We were visiting Buffalo and stayed a few blocks away. Decided to try Spot on our last day. Not sure if it’s a Buffalo thing but the customer service was just okay. Almost felt like we were bothering the cashier.On the other hand, my latte was great. Went back to order another item and they totally forgot about it. Decided to just get a refund.
I am from UB Math department and working in symplectic topology and Gauge theory with my advisor Car-Got Take. Once upon a time I saw one of our faculty: Adam Sikora sitting at this “spot” using his Apple MacBook browsing Facebook when the social media is booming with Russia’s invasion and the exodus of Ukrainian into Adam’s home country: Poland!Good to know that Adam also lives near downtown Buffalo and I think this is probably the reason that he is often late for his class. I personally do not take any of his course but I just heard such legend from the kids.This is a good incentive, in my opinion, for the Buffalo City government and probably also the NYS to wake up and invest infrastructure in our Buffalo society especially in the public transportation so that we Buffalonian can enjoy a reliable, precise and on time public transportation service. This will greatly improves job employment and boosts the local economy and all in all most importantly — for Adam and I to have a safe, reliable and convenient way to UB North!Wish our NFTA extension project goes all the way smooth without any hindrance! The Elmwood location is the worst in the city. They don't honor rewards. They just can't figure it out. As expensive as their products are it would be more than fair to get rewarded for purchasing them. It's gotta be a set up because of the location. It's in a area where the issue is overlooked because they have it like that to spend extra. They should put a sign that they are the only spot that doesn't honor rewards. Also bad experiences with the opinionated mouthy cashier's too. If I had a choice they wouldn't get any star.
Despite Spot was very busy at the time we went & why not it was warm & sunny. The staff was very friendly & helped us with our ordersEven though I accidentally dropped my chai latte they offered me another one with no problem ?Michayla enjoyed her grilled cheese ? sandwich ? despite it had some of chai drink ? on itMichayla said how nice the staff was to her & that she would like to work there
Staff was helpful. Clean. The grilled chicken sandwich was perfect, field greens on the side.
It was a coffee shop. A lot of people are still wearing masks, which is a good thing I think even though I forgot a mask at home and felt a little weird going in naked face! I just had a cookie and coffee. I would prefer if when they ask for here or to go, when you say we're here they provide the coffee in a reusable cup.
Paul was fantastic, the environment was absolutely welcoming and so refreshing. What a great energy! Thanks for the amazing coffee, we will be back on our next visit. Friends from Ohio ☺️
Their house roast is always the best. Food is fresh and there are a lot of options for any kind of diet, vegan through keto.
Shout out to Abby and the whole Spot crew. Today was a rough day for me, and due to a leak in my kitchen ceiling, I couldn't leave my house to get coffee. I'd been up since 7 in the morning, had gone through several pots of coffee, and by the afternoon, still waiting for the repair person to arrive, I was exhausted. I ordered a mocha shake but having never been to spot coffee, I wasn't sure if shots could be added. But in the additional notes, I explained my dilemma and asked if they could accommodate my desperate need for more caffeine. When my drink arrived, this lovely note was written on my cup, and as silly as it may sound, I laugh-cried, lol. It was a kind thing to do for someone who had been tending to a disaster all day. Thank you for helping make a stressful day brighter ?
