Hands down the best place to get ramen in Buffalo. It's a small place, first come first serve (no reservations). Wide variety of ramen, including Tonkotsu and vegetarian. They also have curry bowls, even though I never tried those myself they look delicious.Definitely recommend the Tonkotsu ramen (rich, fatty, full of different toppings that bring complexity and texture such as bamboo shots, ginger, egg, garlic oil, scallions, sliced pork) and the kara-age chicken (japanese-style deep fried chicken thighs, crispy, juicy and tender).
Lovely little spot on Main! Had seen it on the map a few times, and finally brought my wife and myself to try it. Staff was friendly and helpful, and the food was very good. Portion size was generous. They can work around allergies if you have any.
EXCEPTIONAL food! Tonkatsu Ramen and Fried Tofu Don were both absolutely spectacular! Staff are friendly, prices are reasonable, portions Very generous. We will definitely be returning and trying many of the small plates! Just beware the limited seating; we went during the slowest time and there were still many seats filled. But it is most definitely worth any wait!
Just okay. Not spectacular, and overpriced for ramen which was nothing special. Vegetable dumplings pan fried, were not made in house (at least I'd hope nobody went to the trouble for boring dumplings) but the service was good, and we had great company so enjoyable nonetheless.
Amazing authentic affordable ramen. Great atmosphere and a welcoming staff makes it easy even for a first timer like myself. I will definitely be returning.
Food was freshly prepared and satisfying. Took about 15 minutes for the food to arrive, which was a reasonable wait. Service was friendly and prices were reasonable as well. Finding street parking close by wasn't a problem.
I have ordered from Sato Ramen in the past and really enjoyed the food. The most recent time I ordered was a totally different experience. My family and I had ordered 3 bowls of Ramen. 1 was great. The other 2 had so much pepper (black pepper or white pepper) that they were inedible. I tried calling the restaurant just before 7:30 pm (they are open to 8:00 pm) and I was disconnected 3 times. I gave up. I also tried to call several times the next day. I called another Sato location and was told that they do not interact with the other locations and would not assist me. The ingredients in the soup were well prepared and were good. I added several extra ingredients and was a little dismayed to see that for $1.50, I was given 1 little leaf of bok choy. The customer service, or lack there of is enough to keep me from returning, not to mention $40 with of food that was inedible.
Friendly intimate environment with super yummy ramen …
I don't know much about fancy ramen. But I *do* know what tastes good. And Sato Ramen tastes good. Generous servings. You can get a nice Japanese beer to go with your meal. Kinda small (seats 25?). And maybe spruce up the decor, do a little remodeling.
