JT’s seems to be another restaurant that has declined in terms of quality of service and product, while raising prices at the same time. I’ve eaten here plenty of times, both dine in and takeout, and up until recently this was my favorite place to get a steak sandwich. During my last visit, the greeting I received at the host stand was a total turn off. No smile and hello, I couldn’t even hear what was said back to me from the two women after I asked for a table. My waitress seemed nice initially. I ordered the steak sandwich this time. When it was brought out, I noticed that the piece of meat was drastically smaller than what I had been accustomed to receiving, while the price has also increased by $2. After taking my first bite, I found that the steak was overcooked and extremely tough to chew. Just an all around horrible piece of meat. During the time I was eating, I was not asked how things were. So when the waitress decided to come over to prepare the bill, I made mention that I was not happy with the steak I received. She took my plate and went to inform the manager. The “manager” turned out to be one of the women who was behind the host stand when I walked in. The waitress returned and asked if I would like a complimentary dessert or drink, I said “no, thank you.” So she hands me the bill. I look at it and say “manager couldn’t do anything, huh?” she says, “let me go ask her again.” So the manager comes over and tells me that it’s my fault because I ate half of the sandwich. So I had to inform her that no one had come over to ask me how things were. Eventually she agreed to take the sandwich off my bill all together, but at this point I was honestly offended by the way she handled the situation. Customer service is severely lacking. The food has just been so underwhelming here lately, I can only assume that there have been changes in kitchen staff, for the worse. On a recent visit before this, I came in for a fish fry. It was so overcooked and dry, couldn’t even eat half of it. The coleslaw was very good and the fries here are normally top notch, but they were awful on my last visit with the sandwich. I’m not a person who likes to complain because I try to be understanding, but consistency is key for restaurants and quite frankly, this place has been consistently bad as of late. I’m really sorry to see it.
This place is located in the heart of the Elmwood Village where there a couple dozen restaurants close by but his place is one at the top. The atmosphere is LIVE & even walking by you can still feel the positive fun vibe. The food forgetaboutit, love it! I will say it's not necessary a cheap place to eat but 100% worth every penny. Even the wait staff seemed to like their job & bring that vibe to the table. Lastly, don't be surprised to bump into friends which always makes dinner or lunch better because this place really attracts those positive vibes and hence I totally recommend this restaurant!
graduation dinner, party of 10. the food is amazing - pricey but fine dining so have to expect that and worth every penny. the only thing they could use is a parking lot but it's Elmwood so that ain't happening. would probably go again but not on a weekend night when the area is overcrowded and parking is at a premium. definitely recommend. beautiful place
Went on a Saturday night. Food was liked by all. My bolognese was amazing. Hub had veal and he said it was really tough, not like veal should be. But overall party of 12 were happy.Difficulty in getting separate checks for 3 families but no complaints otherwise. Would like to try other entrees.
Very nice ambiance and delicious food special thank for the great service at the bar from Tia and Jordan, great ďìscover
I noticed that the staff didn't check on my date and I as often as the did the other customers, I don't want to make something out of nothing but, we were the only brown skin people on the entire restaurant. Nevertheless, the food was absolutely delicious I had the black spaghetti and shrimp and my husband had the pizza. The service definitely could have been better.
Excellent menu and cozy bar. Good selection and everyone in the party enjoyed well prepared Italian classics. Nice wine list and friendly and attentive bartender who wasn't overbearing. Will definitely return.Parking can be a challenge I would think during busy times but we were there on a Tuesday night at 7pm so we parked about a block and a half away on the street for free. Metered parking on all nearby streets.
Been here twice in the past year. On both occasions the table split the bill evenly between the couples, but both times they gave us each of our cards back but charged only one cardholder multiple times. For example - first dinner was split 3 ways and my card was charged for all 3 splits. Didn't notice until I checked my transactions the next week.Same thing happened when we returned this weekend, but this time I was the lucky one that wasn't charged. I spoke to some friends that work in restaurants and their opinion was that the only way this happens is intentionally.Nothing like having to shake friends down for money a week after dinner. The food is fine but this is a garbage way to treat customers. Especially at a higher end restaurant. Get it together JT's!!
Went in for a quick drink, stayed for the amazing service. Thea was absolute amazing bartender with great conversation! Really made us feel welcomed!
This is a great restaurant to go to…love the atmosphere, food and service. Whenever I call to make reservations, the people on the phone are always friendly and accommodating. A lot of restaurants have gone slightly downhill since Covid, but not JTs!
