Great selection of food, awesome naan. I've tried a few different apps and entrees, all of which have been good.Warning mild is very mild and spicy is very spicy.
If you are in Buffalo and want insanely good Indian food, go here. Really good prices for the amount of food you get. The number of options they have makes it so you could get something new every time (and chances are it’s going to be 10/10). The main point is the flavors, they get it, I don’t know how to properly put words to it other than just amazing. The meat has always been great quality, fresh veggies, and a really well rounded selection for everyone. We’ll likely never go to another Indian restaurant as long as India Gate is open.
This restaurant has THE best Indian food I've ever tasted. I got paneer shahi korma with naan bread and it was amazing. Love the decor. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. Will definitely be coming back!!
. This is my first time ordering from this location I usually order from Elmwood and they have the best korma ever. We ordered shahi korma from this location and there was not one raisin or cashew in it! Those are two of the main ingredients of shahi korma!! i would have never ordered if i knew they were gonna leave those out. When I called and told them they said they must have "forgot" and offered nothing to make up for the fact that we wasted $35 expecting to get a dish we never got. That's why I'm giving them two stars, we paid for a certain dish, didn't get it and they didn't offer to refund it or replace it, that is not good customer service. the bread was nice and soft, bhajia appetizer was decent but the texture was spongy. will never order from this location again. Elmwood location never disappoints..
Second time coming here and it certainly won't be the last - India Gate (Hertel) is awesome! The service is friendly, and the food is outstanding. I've tried the chicken biryani, chana masala, mater mushroom malai, and vegetable curry. It's hard to pick a favorite, but the mater mushroom malai and veggie curry were especially delicious. Can never go wrong with chana masala, though. I hope to be back again soon!

India gate ALWAYS delivers in taste and service, but this was our first time at the Hertel location.We had eggplant pakora and samosas to start, the raita and chutney were tart, sweet, savory, with a little kick to brighten up the fried treats.Saag paneer and butter chicken were rich and flavorful…it was hard to stop eating even though we had already filled our bellies!Thank you to the kind waiter and rest of the staff for a great meal and possibly a new tradition.
Really great food!! Friendly and courteous staff as well, great rapport. Went here with 3 friends, shared our food family-style - it was all delicious. Will definitely be returning!
My husband and I have been coming to India Gate on Elmwood for years now. And I've actually been a loyal customer before we started dating too. Jaspal is such a sweet person and his love and passion for his restaurant and his relationship with his customers shows. When my dad and my mother-in-law passed away in January, he refused to let us pay for our meal and said it was "on the house". He's an awesome man, with one hell of a good heart. This is the best Indian restaurant in Buffalo NY. Staff is curtious and always smiling. Really good quality of food and well prepared dishes. Food came out on time. They do have great Garlic naan!!Please do visit this restaurant if you are in the city .
The food is always incredible- -and they have lots of vegan and vegetarian options. The folks there are always super nice too. Great place!!!
