As a French Canadian, I love poutine. Poutine and cream is maybe kind of a gross name, but the food is anything but. I really love their poutine selection. But honestly I'm happy to stick to the traditional fries, curd cheese, and gravy most days. This place has stuck the landing on the basics. The gravy is good. The fries are crispy, and the cheese is solid.I like the diner feel and aesthetic. And the employees have always been really kind and efficient. The ice cream shakes are solid. I have a couple favorites, but the important notes are that they're consistently good. The only negative experience I've had with ice cream is that I once ordered vanilla ice cream and got what seemed more like custard. The consistency was definitely not ice cream, and the taste was off.If I had any complaint, it would be about the fluctuating standards. From cook to cook you will get variations. Sometimes the fries are overly salted. Sometimes the curd cheese isn't as fresh as I'd like it. Fresh curd cheese should squeak when you bite it. At some point I was told they got their cheese from Yancey's fancies. Which is very good. I'm not sure if they've deviated from that. But I haven't had squeaky curd cheese in a long time.Once upon a time they were also using wooden forks and biodegradable straws. And they've switched back to plastic, which is a great shame. Whenever restaurants are using plastic utensils I wish they would at least ask you if you needed them. The generally when I get home I just noticed they've stuck two or three in the bag.
Cool reprieve from hot Buffalo summers! I tried the creamy bun, which was glazed donut buns with cream and whipped cream. Yummy cool desert. Highly recommend. Helpful kind staff. Gonna try the alcoholic desserts next time I'm here.
The milkshakes and poutine were absolutely amazing! The staff was friendly and the outdoor seating is nice to have available. It's probably going to be my go-to spot in the area now. I am so glad I decided to go after a friend recommended it to me. It's a definite favorite!
Not a lot of space to eat, so don't plan to hang out in cold weather. The food was amazing - I got a small chicken, bacon, ranch poutine and loved the flavors. I ordered a freaky shake, and it was AMAZING but it was so incredibly messy to drink because of the decorations on the outside. I took ice cream sandwiches home for another day, and I liked mine but my husband thought the ice cream was lacking flavor.
Delicious poutine on a cold spring afternoon was what Poutine and Cream served up. I came in with my friend today after a matinee, and at around 7 pm on a Saturday, it was pretty full up in a small restaurant. Many people were waiting, but in my strongest commendation for my experience today, the two people working were efficient, pleasant and delivered the food before I thought it would be there. Great work for people who may have been short-staffed, but the service did not reflect it at all. Great food all around, thank you!
This place is amazing. The poutine was outstanding and even better than ones in Canada. The shakes are so good as well. Me and my family will be back!
The place is located in the heart of Hertel Avenue. The place is very is to find. It’s small and cozy, really great hangout spot. It’s very neat and well maintained. The staff is very kind and generous. There’s a lot of poutine options, different kinds of meats and a couple of veggie options. There is alcohol, ice cream and milkshakes too. We have taken the Chicken Quesadilla Poutine and Veggie poutine. The food came out pretty quick, it’s bought to your table. The quantity was good and it was stomach filling. The chicken poutine was a good one with a spicy tangy sauce, it leaves you with an amazing savoury flavour, makes you want to eat more. We took Chocolate brownie and cinnamon vanilla shakes, they were good, I wish they had a strong flavour though. We took a waffle cone chocolate cake ice cream, it tasted more like milk than ice cream, the flavours can be more strong with a punch on your tongue. Overall good experience, would visit again for the poutine. And all the ice creams doesn’t contain any eggs so good place for vegetarians. There was a vegan ice cream option too.
Loved it! The Montreal Smoked Meat was delicious. The fries were cooked fresh and the meat was tender. The pickles added a nice acid crunch to the deliciousness!
Great prices and great poutine! The cheese curds were squeaky (maybe not as much as in Wisconsin, but what can you do?) and overall delicious. I'd probably add extra gravy if you're getting them delivered, as the fries really soak it in.
We were here while the border was closed with COVID travel restrictions so this was one of only a few poutine places available, on the American side of the border. Food was excellent, there was nice outdoor seating on the street, and the staff was great.
