Chicken Wings American Bar & Grill

Journeyed to the original home of Buffalo wings and was treated to chicken wings prepared to perfection. Crispy, spicy, meaty and tangy. How wings should be prepared. Good selection of local and national brand beers on draught to boot! Service was efficient and friendly. Highly enjoyable!

The food was delicious. Stopped here because it was the birthplace of buffalo sauce. We went at an odd time in the afternoon, but they appeared to be short staffed as we had to wait even though most of the restaurant was empty. It's just like anywhere else, so no biggie. The service was good and the wings great!

Like so much of America, currently suffering from staffing shortages. Waited about 45 minutes for a table even though about a third of the tables were empty. Ordered a second round of beer, and watched our drinks that had been filled by the bartender sit on the bar for almost 15 minutes. Our kids meals came about 15 minutes after the rest of our meals arrived--they were comped by the restaurant because of their late arrival, but we were pretty much done eating before their food even arrived. Overall, the wings were just wings, and the high cost and slow service didn't make it stand out. Took 2 hours total from when we arrived until we left.

Check this off the bucket list. I went to the place where Buffalo wings were invented. It was worth it. Wings are very meaty and it will be a hard choice of sauce for you. This was worth the trip.

The birthplace of buffalo wings was outstanding! It is kid friendly, the food was great, and the staff was very welcoming. I absolutely loved the wings, but one caveat that I wanted to tell folks…. It is a drier wing that isn’t just saturated with sauce. The flavor was outstanding, and they were some of the best that I had ever had. I ordered the original buffalo wings and it came with a prime rib sandwich with a dipping sauce. It had great flavoring and was cooked perfect. This was worth the trek for our family to see this spot (which is super close to the falls)!

First off whoever answered my messages on facebook was extremely friendly and welcoming. When we walked in the hostess was very kind and sat us. The place is busy but the staff was as friendly and welcoming as they are beautiful. The service was fast and the food was delicious. My mom usually doesn’t like spicy but couldn’t get enough of the wings. We came all the way from Montreal just for this. Best part is you can take home the sauces for only 5$ each. Highly recommend if you are or even aren’t in the area. Kelsey was amazing also. Always a smile and always attentive listening and answering.

I shall no longer refer to the food at Buffalo Wild Wings (a chain restaurant) as really bad; I'll just note that they are "authentic."

On a trip to the falls we stopped at the birth place of buffalo wings, so happy we did! We had wings and burgers, everyone loved it. The staff was also amazing!

We had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant. The food is excellent!! We taste tested a lot of food! My Favorites were cauliflower boneless wing, beef sandwich, pizza, wings, the cheese tolls, chicken soup and much more!! Anchor Bar, everyone should try!! Lots of Variety of Food!! Service was excellent too!

Went for a concert in Buffalo and decided to try out the home of the chicken wings at the original Anchor Bar. The place has some parking along the side and the street and walked into a restaurant where the walls were covered in autographs of the many famous people as well as various artifacts, esp some vintage motorcycles. I got some Chipolte Sweet BBQ wings and while they were very good, I did not feel they were the best wings I have ever tasted. I wonder if I would have liked other flavors better but overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant and the history of the place. It is well worth searching for if in Buffalo and looking for an historic place to eat at.
