My friend and I went here last night around 7pm. We sat at the bar where there was 4 other people, and two tables, (not busy), we watched two women who worked there walk by us at least 10 times, never even acknowledged us. We continued to stay seated at the bar for more than 20 minutes because we never had to walk out of any restaurant before. After about a total of 30minutes with no one saying anything to us we decided that it was best for us to leave. It was really disappointing because we love Deep South Tacos food
Service here was not good. Menus were dirty from previous customers. It took about 20-25 minutes for the waitress to get to my table and I ordered a shrimp iceviche appetizer; about $12, which took about 10 minutes to arrive and for it to be the size of my palm. I’m 5’4 and I have small hands… The tacos I ordered which was about $7 were also small, very dry and not very flavorful(Mind you it was the same size as the shrimp iceviche). Majority of the people here were white as well and I was one of the only few poc here… The water that also came with was regular tap water and the cups were not washed properly since I had to scrape off dried up after wash and lip crust from the rims. There was particles in the water and the silverware that they provided me was still dirty and greasy from previous use or just improper wash.
The tacos here are freaking amazing and the service staff are super friendly. I recommend giving this place a try when you can, you won't be disappointed at all.
It was just ok. The food wasn't too flavorful and didn't have too much bang for the buck. I feel if the food had more flavor it would have been a better experience.
Best prices and good service. Cant say I would drive from far to try their tacos, but as a local I an here once or twice a week. Quick Tacos that will taste good and wont cost you a fortune.
I had their carne asada tacos. They were rather expensive, small and the steak was cooked to hell. With a total of four people in the place it took a long time for a bartender to realize someone new walked in for a pick up order. They looked nice but lacked in flavor.Rich on a real note take the drive and go to Mexico City in Hamburg. You’ll see the big sign in the window. Keep at it bud
We hosted our family and friends welcome dinner prior to our Wedding at Deep South on Ellicott, and we could not have been happier. Steve and his crew were able to accommodate our large party of about 50 on relatively short notice after a scheduling mishap with another venue. We and our guests had an amazing time! The food was excellent, the service was great, and our party had a wonderful essentially completely private space to enjoy the night. If you're looking for a place with a completely down to earth vibe, with excellent food and drinks to host a medium to large party, look no further.
This place was the first place I fell in love with after moving to Buffalo. Go with friends. Get the nachos. The normal menu nachos are $16 and big enough for 4 people to have as a main. I’m not joking. It’s seriously so good. The cheese, the carnitas, *chefs kiss*
Got a chicken fajita wouldn't recommend.. was really bland and the mixed drinks there are 10 dollars. The server was nice, I heard the tacos are better. *edit* Maybe if the owner focused on making sure his food was properly seasoned as much as he focuses on making snarky passive replies to every bad review it might not be too bad. I didn't see any mixed drinks on the menu that were under 10 dollars.. Just beer, but then again hard to read such a big menu on just my phone, because they dont have actual paper menus.. ya know, like most restaurants in the world have? :D (By the way just so you know some good seasonings to put on a fajita are chili powder, ground cumin, and garlic powder and your hot sauce is the most mild thing I've ever had I swear it's just tomato sauce)
Nacho's were the best! Taco selection was expansive! We ordered Tuna and Lobster Tacos - some that we had never eaten - they were Awesome. Fun and energetic atmosphere!!! Margarita were delish- fresh and tasty. Would definitely go back and take friends! Want to go the the other location for the "Fired Up Grille Experience". Our serve told us that they have these awesome grilles/fire pits to cook your own food and hang out next to the fire - what is not to like about that.
