Beef on weck was delicious and service was good. Would like to see more sides and the instant gravy was disappointing but overall a good experience.
I had the beef on weck. Very disappointed. Boar's Head supermarket deli roast beef is more flavorful.
This is totally different the the original location. Arrived there at 12:15 on a Wednesday and it was completely dead. Ordered the beef on weck. It was ordered medium rare but it was far from that... no pink . But it was tender but lacks taste. Went back to counter And ask for a container of au ju . The roll was not very good. It was Like a grocery store hamburger bun.
We stopped by over the weekend as we were in town for a mini Mother's Day Vacation. I did some research and Charlie's came back as one of the top places reccomended for beef on weck, so we decided to stop in. I was very hesitant to stay when we got there because it was empty (both times)but it is right near the college so I assumed maybe most people in the area had gone home for the weekend. The sandwiches were delicious. I loved the bread and bought the topping to make my own weck at home. My husband got mashed potatoes and gravy, and I was impressed with how good they were. I thought they were going to be instant but they reminded me of Thanksgiving. My kids also loved their old timey fountain drinks. The only downside is that the staff has little to no personality, we stopped in twice and both times the staff was kinda blah. Not sure if that's just their service or because we're not locals/regulars. I'd still reccomend trying them out, but don't expect to feel like they actually want you there.
Stopped in for lunch and was not disappointed. The Saturday special prime rib sandwich is fantastic! The shop is very clean and the service was lightning fast. I would definitely come here again.
The bun is topped with the perfect amount of salt to set this apart from all the other sandwiches.
The best part of the meal was the potato salad, but it is a solid roast beef sandwich as well.
I got the beef on weck, garlic pasta, and chef salad. Alllll super good. Fresh tasting, and worth the price. Definitely would recommend and order again ! Yum!
I had Buffalo's infamous Beef on Weck ( i had the small version). This was a tasty sammie. The weck is BUN that is topped with pretzel salt and what appeared to be caraway seeds. The beef is a roast beef that was tender and juicy. The only down side was I was expecting to get an Au Jus dip, that's what I've seen from other places in Buffalo. This was a simple but delicious sandwich. I would get another beef on weck. Idk if it would be from this particular place. Don't get me wrong, it was good but I've seen other mom and pop places online after the fact. It looks alot different.
Mmmmm. Finally got back to the US, and this was stop #4. What a tasty sandwich! Great food, friendly staff, and a great location. Looking forward to returning.
