Take the Silo city tour and boat ride, interesting Buffalo history! An area I knew nothing about, but want to check out more now.
We came here to see the US Navy ships. The exhibits we're awesome. The memorials outside were wonderful. The WW 2 museum was great.
So beautiful and peaceful. I have lived on the Canadian side for years and it was my first time there. Will definitely be back.
The food was delicious. The tour was very informative and fun. Beautiful teakwood newly varnished, on this vessel.
A nice place to hangout with friends specially in the warmer months. It has a free entry museum, a $1 carousel ride, an ice cream shack, food shack, sand pit for kids to play and a restaurant. The stretch isn’t huge but it’s a good place to spend some time outdoors.
I prefer canal side when there aren't events going on because it's a lot more casual. Great place to walk around and take photos
Great area for walking and watching skaters and curlers practicing. The main highlights are a seafaring museum and a gorgeously restored carousel with brilliant details and sound.
A great and memorable time on the ice and inside an igloo. Staff communicated time changes very efficiently and were always helpful. The ice bumper cars where a big hit. It was a wonderful evening.
We had a fabulous time!! Rented an igloo for 7 of us, the staff was so friendly and attentive! We will be doing this again next year!
When I visit Canalside today, I remember what it was like when I was a kid and I have a hard time believing it’s the same place. But it is! And it’s so much cooler now.The ships and other military stuff (tank, plane, etc) were always there. If they weren’t so big, you might not even know there was a tourist attraction, with all the dirt and gravel and chain link fences under a highway overpass… But now, they’re surrounded by flowers and trees and green grass and nice landscaping!Plus there’s shops and museums and restaurants. There’s a merry-go-round and a pit of sand for kids to play in. There’s a skating rink. Events are hosted here all summer long. It’s morphed from “oh yeah, the dirty area with ships next to the arena” to one of my favorite parts of Buffalo. It’s small. It’s charming. It’s a perfect little encapsulation of some Buffalo culture.
