Loved this place. Great place to dine in at.

Pro: I brought my out-of-town family to Bertha's for our first time there. We were there early on a Sunday morning, and there was no wait. We were served with good cheer and friendliness by Mary, who was very attentive to keeping our coffee filled as we asked. Our meal choices were the James Dean(sausage delight on Belgian Waffle!), The Backwoods (stuffed Belgian Waffle with ham & cheese) and one order of the corned beef hash. All of our orders came hot and fresh with everyone claiming theirs was the best meal! Excellent service, despite it getting very busy. Great character in the decor, although small. Clearly there are a LOT of regulars there. All good! Cons: cash only, and the trek to the restrooms. Fortunately, we were aware of both before we arrived.

My 1st time to Bertha's was 2 days ago. What a gem! The place was packed (and the space is small). Watching the chef cook the breakfasts from my table was great! You can see the dedication and attention that is given to each order. The waitress was fantastic. I had the BST Bagel and my friend had the Breakfast Dump Plate. Both were soooo good! The folks on here giving this place a bad review should perhaps go to Denny's or iHop. This is old school diner dining. A great experience and will definitely be back. Thanks for the great breakfast! :-)

Cute old building, cozy diner. Bathroom is through the kitchen and down a steep flight of stairs. Then a half flight down and another half flight up. Very quirky. Food was delicious. They accept cash and also Venmo.

A small and attentive little diner tucked away on Hertel next to the theatre. We ordered the Boot Camp and James Dean which came out pretty quickly despite there only being 1 waitress. Their fruits tasted pretty fresh and their waffle lives up to their famous name. The waffle especially had a really nice melted cheese and ham cooked into it that mixed the flavors really well in one bite.We definitely would come here again for a quick bite!

My FAVORITE breakfast spot. Food is so good. So much better than the Curtiss hotel Sunday brunch. My son ordered the breakfast Sammy. Wife ordered the garbage plate I ordered the rooster. All three great. Also ordered a short stack. Best pancakes I’ve had. Best

Fabulous food, staff, friendly setting cozy. I would definitely recommend this diner for all your hunger needs. My favorite so far are the pancakes, eggs were sooooo fluffy and delicious. Only suggestion is the place needs to be bigger so more people can enjoy their food. Thanks again.

Great food & service … unique spices give the home fries a different approach for a delicious taste.

The pancakes were delicious- but a short stack is enough for two people especially if you get sides. The only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is because the grill is a little small- meaning not all of or food for a party of 3 came out at the same time. We would still go back, but just order fewer pancakes :)

Just letting you know how horrible you treated my daughter today. She stayed outside with her 2 small kids waiting for table. Told maybe 10-20 mint. After a 1/2 hour went inside and asked how much longer. They said we tried calling you. That was a lie. Also you can see her standing out there. Why couldn’t you let her know??? Other people went in and got tables. Then told well now you have to wait longer taking others Really poor management poor employees just plain rude. Then they said we don’t have room for you??!! Really Don’t know what their problem is but you can expect us to let everyone know how horrible they were treated. Many other places to pick from so I hope karma does right by you
