I had to grab a quick dinner on 15th July and the Anchor Bar was recommended by a person whom I met at Williamsville. Thought of giving it a visit. The ambience was good, had lots of interesting pics and info. I had ordered the signature dish of Buffalo Chicken Wings. The food was amazing and very tastly. It was a good experience, great service and had a nice time. Glad i could visit this place and was not disappointed of my random pick.

I walked into this location at 12:30 PM. There was no one in there so far. Sat down at a table and my forearms stuck to a sticky filthy table. I looked down and the floors were filthy and seems like they weren't mopped for days if not weeks. I ordered the wings and they tasted sooooo bad. Tasted moldy and very old. The Caesar Salad was the color yellow instead of green. I at 1 wing and immediately was disgusted and was done. When I left I noticed a sign outside looking for Cooks ! I wish I saw that in the beginning.DO NOT go to this location.

I absolutely loved the chicken parm. Could have used a half scoop more maranira sauce on the pasta but was still great. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was door dash. I despise door dash business ethics. I will gladly drive to the Anchor Bar but, I will never order delivery again until door dash is gone.

Definitely not my favorite spot anymore. Prices are too high..check out the price for a salad alone. Plus you can get better wings at many places in Buffalo. It used to be a good spot..what happened to the good blue cheese? Ken's dressing is not a good change. The service was good and friendly so that was a plus. Tourist trap it seems us regular Buffalo folk will go elsewhere.

Not as good as the original but definitely worth going to if you're catching a plane out of Buffalo and can't make it to the original. The hot BBQ wings are pretty good. They have a good crispy texture but lack the size I desire. My Dave Portnoy score is a 6.7.

Our waitress, Tabitha was AMAZING. Hands down the best we've had. From start to finish she made our dinner a great experience - we'd come back simply so get that service again. Great food, yummy drinks & lots of laughs.

Amy took forever to serve our food. We did make complains 30 minutes in and got our food around 40~50 minutes in. When they did serve us food, with 1 wrong sauce. We chose 2 sauces when we ordered and gave us 1 sauce that we did not choose. Amy brought our sauces by the time we were done. Amy chose not to apologize for anything. Everyone around us received their food promptly and most around us finished their food and left before we got any of our order. I'm only hoping that it didn't have to do with us being the only Asian customers at the time.

Let me preface this by saying I really enjoyed the wings. They were a good size (not the biggest I've had, but definitely not small). They had ample sauce. They were cooked well. I would absolutely go here and order them again. That being said, there was nothing special about them that set them apart from other good places with wings. Anchor Bar may be one of the originators of the Buffalo wing, but their wings don't stand out compared to other places with good wings. We also got some appetizers. They have a huge soft pretzel with cheese, and that was VERY good. They also have "pizza logs," which could be compared to an egg roll, but with pepperoni & cheese inside. These were... different. They come with barbecue sauce on them. Everyone in our group who tried them all used that exact word ("different"). The flavor combination is interesting. They're not bad, but it's not something I'd rush to order again. The service was okay. We were a big group, so that makes things tough. Still, she didn't stop back enough, and we were often out of drinks. It also took a long time to get the checks. The gratuity was automatically added (18%), which I expected. The good part is that the bill made that clear. In some restaurants, it seems almost intentional that you can't easily see that they already added the tip (for the large group), but that was not the case here. Overall, I was satisfied with our trip to Anchor Bar. Good atmosphere. Very good wings. Decent service. I'd go here again. I just don't think that it's a place you HAVE to go when in Buffalo.

The food was pretty good I guess but I wasn't blown away as I expected to be. For being the "original" chicken wing restaurant, I thought the wings would be unbeatable but that was not the case IMO. Also, I was extremely disappointed in their new signature bleu cheese. It had a very weird consistency and the taste was unpleasant. The waitress said they switched to that from Ken's brand bleu cheese. Supposedly, though, after many customer complaints, Anchor Bar is going back to Ken's, which is smart on their part. I dislike when restaurants change something that doesn't need changing. If you like Bleu cheese and are a chicken wing fan, you know how important a good Bleu cheese is with your wings. If those issues were resolved, I would go back again to try some other menu items and different wing sauces, but not having a good Bleu cheese is a deal-breaker for me. Sorry for my review of bleu cheese haha

Lorrie was an amazing waitress! She was super nice and made sure we got our food exactly how we liked it. Our food was great too, definitely would come here again! ?
