I got here and took the train all the way from Manhattan to try this spot. It was 100% worth the time. Food is delicious. Anything from the menu is Yummy and it’s a super well run business. I highly recommend it. Congrats to Kathy and team.Ricardo & Fio
tried going here for lunch, ready to buy half the menu. my reason for this review because there was one other lady in there waiting on food. I took a look at the menu, patiently waited for the gentleman that was working the register. he gave the other lady her food, very pleasant with her. proceeded to go on his phone which wasn't the issue; looked up and gave me a look like why are you here, staring at me like I was stupid or something, yet I hadn't said anything again because I was waiting for his availability, then he says and yea. I responded, you know what, forget it and walked out. I don't know if its because I'm black, but it definitely like some sort of discrimination.
Loved the food and the sauces! Went to get dinner here with my boyfriend while on vacation from Texas. We both got the grilled chicken arepas which came with a non spicy green sauce and a spicy red sauce. I’ve had arepas before, so I was excited to visit. He hasn’t, but we both really loved the food. If you haven’t tried an arepa before and are in the area, I would suggest going here. I was especially happy with the sauces. Food came out pretty quick, and the cashier was friendly.
Im giving them a 4 star due to the fact that a few things we wanted originally was not available and also no access to the bathroom they said it wasn’t available ??♀️??♀️ which was annoying since I was with my toddler…But anyway what we ended up getting was pretty good.Is the cheese on the arepa supposed to be melted? I’m still confused about that, but it was still really good
The food is fantastic but that’s almost a given to compete in NYC.What sets White Maize apart is their customer service. After my seamless driver delivered the wrong order, White Maize didn’t hesitate to take care of me even at their own expense. A business that puts its customers first is one I’ll return to time and time again. Highly recommend.
I really want to love this place! I’m Venezuelan and this is the only spot where I can find something that reminds me home. The flavor is there, I’m not complaining about that but who ever is reading this! Please! Pay attention to the delivery orders. This is the 3rd time we received something that was not what we ordered it. Also a pabellón arepa is not supposed to be half maduros and a tbsp of meat. A little more attention to detail would make this a really good Venezuelan place.
Place has potential, serving flavorful arepas and empanadas. Thier hotdogs and burgers are tasty and filling. We sat down to eat and froze because there was No heat. I definitely recommend calling for takeout/to go.
Come for the arepas, come for the cachapas but you should sure as hell come for the tequeños. Second to none in NYC. And the ones with guayaba/guava? Right on the money
