Honey comb is perfect, staff were quick and cordial. Very clean.
Good spot to go to especially on a hot summer day! Milkshake was more loose (definitely needed more ice cream) but overall, tasted good. Place was clean and staff was kind. Just needs organization when ordering (it was packed so understandable).
Teeny tiny place. Fits about 4 tables. But the service is amazing. Expect to pay at LEAST 7 dollars for anything. But the quality is there for sure. If I must say anything it would be, charge… charge what you must, but make sure the quality is 100% there. And here you receive just that. I would come here a lot more often if only ice-cream didn’t have so many calories . And the service was amazing. This tall cute girl helped me with the nicest face. And she was quick and gave me great recommendations.
A scoop of Earl grey was delicious! Tasted a hint of cardamom. But I recommend buying a pint as it's only $10 vs $7 for a single scooo.
bring back salted caramel dude what, wanted enough for three catering events. Not usually a review writer but it makes 0 business sense to have Mac and cheese and get rid of a best seller. lost a loyal long time customer :-(
The worst ice cream I have ever had.Tastes like the bland, thick, freeze dried, film, that forms on the lids of old ice cream containers. Or the skin that forms on a milk pudding, the denatured proteins when cooking chicken. I lived in France. There is nothing French about this ice cream. They may have used a recipe from France? But they are doing it wrong. The eggs are curdled, the mouth feel is THICK and granular little chewy chonks of denatured curdled cooked, bland, scrambled egg proteins that were blended down to make them smaller. Not worth the high price, not worth any price. it's the worst ice cream I've ever had. It is so awful, I am upset that they made it and sold it to me. I feel tricked like a nasty practical joke was played on me, and I had to pay for it. Gross, do not buy it. This ice cream made me keep burping its foul, thick, egg-chonky, curdled cottage cheese micro texture, gross minty egg-ness for hours.I love eggs. I love custards, gelato, French ice cream- in France, But this, by any measure is the worst desert I have ever eaten. Would you like milky scrambled egg yolks with a little salt? It's nasty! Don't waste your money. Any other place you will go in New York, will have amazing and good ice cream.
Love this location, cute exterior and friendly employees. Even on a busy free topping Tuesday they were pleasant and helpful. The works is ALWAYS the best - paired with brown sugar cookie dough crunch and chocolate fudge brownie. Heaven in a cup.
Outstanding ice cream! They have some really interesting flavor combinations as well as some classics if you're feeling less adventurous.
My wife and I were visiting from Michigan and we went here. We have been here before the last time we were in New York and just the ice cream is freaking amazing. Not overly priced and just delicious. Once again we got our honeycomb ice cream and also tried another flavor which I don't remember the name but still amazingly good. Wish Michigan had this franchise.
Big fan of Van Leeuwen’s for years— the ice cream is creamy and flavorful. Getting a pint is the best bang for your buck— the scoops are pricy, but that’s the price you pay for homemade food. My favorite flavors are earl grey tea & pistachio! Steer clear of the vegan s’mores ice cream (it tastes like liquid smoke and wasn’t pleasant).
