Got to celebrate my sister's birthday here. Sushi was very fresh and flavorful. And presentation was also beautiful. Eating each piece with different salts was also an experience. Seated in the patio and the weather was nice. FYI all parties must be present before being seated.

Very beautiful place to dinning with friend. Interesting dinning experience too! However, the signature set cost $75 now, it is the price really close to omakase. I will said that’s 2 different experience, but half of my party mentioned the rice was not enough ( less than the regular omakase).

Went there for lunch today by booking the reservation at 1 pm. Staff were nice and friendly. The atmosphere weren’t great because we sat in the garden and the weather was so hot (we should have sat in the restaurant ?). Anyway, we ordered the $78 set per person and one bottle of drink. To be honest, I have very high expectation for this place because of the rating and the price. However, some of the food didn’t seem to be fresh, like when I ate the uni I smelled some odor through my nose and the texture felt weird (I’m a big fan of uni, so I can tell how fresh they are). Fish and shrimp were great, fresh, and sweet. I gave 4 stars due to the food didn’t meet my expectation, but it’s worth to try once in a while.

The entire experience of dining at UME was incredible. From the authentic greeting entrance area to the floor seating that is true to Japanese culture was amazing. Tasting menu consisted of fresh and thoughtfully constructed combinations of fish and garnish. They provide recommendations of seasonings that compliment each bite that was savored. Definitely one of the best Sushi restaurants in Williamsburg. Thank you!

The most lovely sushi experience I’ve ever had! The food was excellent, and beautifully displayed. The staff all had smiles and were so friendly. Had such a pleasant time. 10/10

Food 10/10The fish was incredibly fresh and each piece of the course complemented the meal very well. Super great pairings and ingredients in each piece, very colorful spread and loved the interactive and “do it yourself” element of the omakase experience. The different seasonings, especially the TRUFFLE SALT, truly elevated the entire meal. We also got the barley tea, which was really yummy too. We were seated in the back, where there’s a clear ceiling. The lighting was gorgeous so the pictures also turned out great. The set itself is already very filling, but I wished I had the chance to try their other items too.Service 10/10I received a very comprehensive and friendly text message the day before reminding me about the reservation. Once we arrived (late), they led us to a room where we took off our shoes and washed our hands. We had a place to store our jackets as well. The waiter was really attentive and answered our questions about the entire process.Atmosphere 10/10Loved how zen and calming the entire restaurant was, such a peaceful and warm experience. Loved the wooden paneling and warm glowing lights. My only qualm is that sitting cross-legged was quite uncomfortable and my ankles were hurting after a bit so I had to keep on readjusting my position.

Thoughts:Cons - the soup tasted quite like instant noodle soup base ?; the chopsticks were also thick and round rather than the typical Japanese pointed ones - didn’t realise how important chopsticks were in an omakase/Japanese dining experience but it makes a big difference; at times it was difficult to get the waiters’ attention if you are sitting outside.Pros - beautiful layout of food, lovely ambience and outdoor garden, seafood was fresh, rice was perfectly cooked and delicious, interesting flavour pairings, overall a cool experience, reasonably priced and left us full/satisfied

My girlfriend and I were pretty disappointed with our experience here. The food was just…okay. It wasn’t impressive and the service was subpar. A pot of tea was $16. That’s ridiculous. Nothing wowed us. It was an okay experience and we enjoyed sitting on the floor and the beautiful presentation of the sushi, but it was it nearly as tasty as it was good looking. Won’t be back. I don’t recommend this place if you like sushi a lot.

Amazing dinner experience and great variety in flavors in textures within the sushi sets. The flavored salts were a fun and interactive touch to the meal! We also tried various handrolls including A5 wagyu, scallops, tuna, and salmon. Everything was absolutely delicious and service was very attentive!

The sushi was nice. We love how it displayed. The fish was so fresh and tasty. We like the macha green tea and peach juice as well. The bathroom was nice and clean. People are so nice and friendly there. We had a good time. The only thing I could potentially complain is the seating is not that comfortable. Maybe it’s because I’m not used to sit that way. Overall, I highly recommend this place.
