Staff was very rude. I can all from the Bronx to Brooklyn to enjoy their cuisine. After I ordered I sat down. I was told that I can’t order take out and sit k. The dinning areas so I said I had no idea I’ll just pay difference. They simply told me no. Very disappointed. It be your own people all the time. Highly disappointed. Would not recommend.
So I go in there with a friend, he orders his food and the server was so rude and unpleasant, he's asking her questions and she's totally ignoring him. I ask the guy at the register for his recommendation on which soup should I order, after his recommendation I told him I'll have a large with a festival. I went to the bathroom and saw my friend with his order and no soup, I ask the person at the register for the soup and he tells me he never charged for it.Smh..
I've been a patron of Topaze since it's inception in 1987. They have progressed and expanded beautifully. Went here for my Birthday dinner and was blown away by the service and the food. The Oxtail with Rasta Pasta for an entrée, the Mango Wings and Sweet Chili Wings as an appetizer and a Strawberry Margarita (Both for dinner and to go. Had to order one to go. Soooo delicious and the perfect amount of liquor). Wonderful service by the awesome Ms. Felecia. She was very friendly and attentive. Great personality and she personally made my drink. I'm so proud of the owner Mr. Larry who had humble beginnings and is flourishing today. Please try this restaurant. Their sit in service is awesome! Made my Birthday special. Thanks Topaze ❤
Totally disappointed in this restaurant. The take out staff needs to be trained in good customer service. I waited 45 minutes for my order while the take out staff walked back and forth laughing and joking with each other. I was ignored by one staff member and another had an attitude when I asked about my order. I would not recommend this restaurant. There are too many other restaurants to spend your money where they really value and appreciate their customers.
Pains me to say this but topaze is falling way off. I'm not sure what's the reason for decline in quality of the food and flavor, but before the pandemic they were on point. I'm unsure if theres different cooks now or if they are rushing to make the food without letting the seasoning and flavor catch, but this is definitely not it. I'll give two stars due the fact that I've been a regular for years. Hopefully this change
Terrible food as well as service!!I used to frequent Topaze quite sometime ago (20yrs), I decided to get some of their food as I was in the neighborhood (early February 2022). I noticed the place has changed a lot. I was told they don’t have patties (disappointed). The staff is generally indifferent to the presence of customers or maybe it’s customers they don’t know, either way it’s unacceptable!!The food: I ordered a jerk chicken meal and an oxtail (stewed) meal, I chose coleslaw as a side for both (confirmed by staff).The outcome: (I should’ve checked before leaving). Arrived home one hour after leaving the restaurant, the jerk chicken is ridiculously dry, I mean brittle!!! Absolutely unable to be eaten, no exaggeration!!!Lots of rice in each meal (not uncommon for restaurants).The oxtail was just ok, nothing special. And guess what? NO COLESLAW!!! Sautéed vegetables instead!If you choose to go here, I hope you don’t have my experience.I WON’T BE BACK!
Food was great, restaurant was clean & our server Philiesha was such a pleasant young lady too bad she didn't have alittle more help overall the experience was good......I would definitely visit again
Order the most expansive lobster dish- the worst ever . Not only the taste , dry and not eateble lobster itsrlf was in one dish with rise and vegetables - which was not in eatable state. Macaroni pie taste like rubber, not a cheese. So much money for disgusting neal.
People that work there are the most unprofessional, unorganized and uncaring staff I’ve run across. Said they had plenty of stewed chicken and when I arrived within the hour they had none and could care less. Ignorant people can ruin a business
Not good. The Roti Skin was fine but the serving was something else. The shrimp roti was delivered like this, no potatoes, no carrots, and a handful of shrimp. Next to it is the chicken roti my sister ordered which was filled to the brim but also full of bones, pepper corns, and cartilage. We also had a side of Macaroni pie that was basically oily macaroni with melted cheese on top. First day back to NY and was totally disappointed.
