Delicious food. I love the vibes. So simple and it feels like I’m in India (just like old Indian movies). The employees are so polite and kind. And I got free dessert!
The food at Taj Mahalo is ALWAYS delectable. Everything tastes freshly cooked with fresh ingredients and tantalizing spices for a truly BEAUTIFUL dinner.I've been going to this restaurant for many years, and I'm always happy with their dishes. The staff is ALWAYS very friendly, kind and respectful, and quick to bring your appetizers. The waiter blessed us with two complimentary, delightful desserts. I highly recommend this lovely place one hundred percent ?????????
Really disappointing food and service. So slow and the food was not worth the wait. Never going to come here again and I would not recommend it for anyone. There’s a reason why only 3 tables were filled on a Friday night….
The food was delicious (and didn’t give me headaches which often happens when the ingredients are not fresh or included MSG or other preservatives), the service was excellent, and the ambiance was warm and made for an enjoyable date night. The other big plus – their use of paper instead of plastic straws, and for the days we prefer takeout, their packaging shows concern for the environment which gives them our top vote for our go to restaurants in Bay Ridge!
I don’t normally leave reviews, but this is an important warning. My friend and I went to the Taj Mahal at 1pm for lunch. We were the only two people there. When we arrived, our waiter wouldn’t take our order. I had to raise my hand and ask after a long time. The food was good, but we had leftovers that we wanted to take home. This is where the experience went south.Nobody would give us our check. The staff was sitting at another table near us, watching us wait, and did nothing. Finally, we asked someone for the check and to take our food to go. Someone took our food and would not give it back for an extremely long time. At this point, people were screaming in the kitchen. Not sure why.We had to practically beg to leave. We finally got the check and food to go, but the staff was so hostile towards us. I ended up throwing the food away at home because the whole wait was suspicious.
Served uncooked food and then chef misbehaved with us and argued on cooking style rather than correcting the mistake. I've never had a more ridiculous experience where the chef kept on arguing even after seeing the chicken on the inside and servers also agreeing.
Very pleasantly surprised buy all of it, including the complimentary dishes. The chicken tikka sag was fresh and the naan delicious. Will definitely come back
Love this place!!! The food is always good. The service always attentive and on point. My favorite are the dinner combos there are a few of them. Gives you a chance to try different things. In the summer they set tables outside i love this place!!!!
So I ate from here twice so far. First time was take out. I ordered a soup, samosa appetizer & Chicken Tikka Masala entree. Food was good. On the plus side, taste was good. All the right spices. On the negative side, everything was very,very oily. The man at the register who took the order said 15-20min. And it took 45 minutes. The 2nd time I ate there with my daughters. I do regret it.Very oily as well. Besides taking over an hr for the food, I heard coughing and sneezing in the kitchen. I believe there were 2 cooks. I seen them come in and out of the kitchen twice. Not a sight to be seen. Other people came in to order "to go". They were there 45min. - 1hr. as well. To be honest I won't return
