We stopped in to get something to eat. We weren't real hungry, but I noticed they sold pizza by the slice. One slice each was plenty, as the slices were pretty big. We both liked the type we picked. The prices were reasonable. I would definitely stop in again, if we're ever in the area.
The pizza was awesome & the cheesecake was divine!! Cheese sticks were great. I could have eaten a bowl of the marinara sauce. Great service!!
Visiting from Liverpool,UK ended up at Coney Island by mistake after taking the wrong train!(typical tourists!!)Glad we did though as came across Surf City . Friendly staff, excellent service and more importantly delicious food.
Great food. Large portions. Family friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating. Great atmosphere. Amazing staff. We were greeted right away. Treated extremely well. We were first timers but will be regulars.
Very bad pasta, small portion for the amount I paid and not very nice workers.
In the summer, it’s hot as hell in here! My husband and I took our nieces the NY Aquarium and to Coney Island. We were starving after the aquarium which closed all their cafeterias. We stopped in at Surf City because it was the nearest restaurant. I for sure thought it was going to be a tourist trap, but the food was really great! My husband loved his lobster ravioli and I had the BEST shrimp alfredo linguini which they obliged to cook a little softer for me. I would definitely return and recommend this place.
Excelente servicio y comida
The chicken and bacon pizza I had yesterday was OUT OF THIS WORLD! My home attendant said the shrimp salad was great but felt a little shortened by the lack of shrimp and said the Italian dressing had a little too much kick. The staff were very welcoming and their prices were fantastic. Less than $30 for 2 people to eat which I really was surprised considering that it's Coney Island.
Honestly, I have no idea how this place is so highly rated. I’m not even a harsh critic but this food was so so bad. Not 1 but 2 of us felt extremely sick after eating it.1. The pasta was severely undercooked, and I am aware Italians cook their pasta al dente but there is a level to which it is just tough and unbearable to chew.2. I asked for my salmon to be medium, the sear on top the salmon was so overdone like cement on top of a road and again TOUGH. The inside of the salmon.. overcooked.3. The seafood pasta.. the shrimp was clearly cooked days before and reheated atleast 5 times. There was no care in the preparation at all. You would think with seafood they would take their time? And with a name like SURF city?I was extremely disappointed as this was my first time to Coney Island but I will definitely not visit this specific place again. I have no complaints about waiter service, but the food.. so very bad and all kinda of charges added onto bill at the end. Was not worth it.
Had a chicken parm hero for a late lunch. It was very good and tender. The fried calamari was very good as well as an appetizer
