Amazing atmosphere and excellent drinks. If you’re a fan of Tiki Drinks this is a must try. Will definitely be back again.

INCREDIBLE The space is so well done I feel like I'm in a different era. The ship vibe, and especially the art behind the bar is worthy of an award in its own right. The tiki drink menu is insanely well curated and they deliver above expectations. The variety, presentation, and taste for every drink is 100/100 - each one unique. I will be going back to hopefully try every item on the menu over time. The food items they offer are a real treat as well (those RIBS!) Don't think twice - go here.

Fantastic hidden gem, legit tiki

Super chill vibe and highly attentive staff. Great cocktail and food selections. The bartenders work like the highly skilled craftsmen that they are! The design details are evident as the theme ties into the food and drinks.

Great experience! Fun for cocktails, we got in very quickly but it can be busy though so just make sure you’re prepared for a bit of a wait. G&T has a mid-level bar which was great for waiting

I never leave reviews but had to write one after my negative experience and second time coming here tonight. I came here on Wednesday and had a lovely time. Fast forward to tonight (Saturday) when I wanted to share a similar experience with my sister visiting from out of town. Like I had done on Wednesday, I entered the main Gage and Tollner entrance but was stopped rudely by the hostess. She was middle aged, olive toned, wearing a bun and a wine colored blouse. I told her we were going to Sunken Harbor and politely asked if there was a wait. She responded to my question instead by flatly asking if we were joining a party or had reservations. Over the next few minutes, she refused to take our name or number down for a waitlist (as was done on Wednesday), was condescending to any clarifying questions, rolled her eyes, and angrily kept repeating, “They’re booked!” even though it was almost two hours until closing. There is a respectful way to tell customers, especially Black customers, if your business is at capacity and she had so much attitude from our tepid presence that we were in shock and disbelief. I never write reviews but I have never been treated this way before. Upper management needs to iron out the door policy and train staff on handling customers not dining at G&T. I live in the neighborhood but will not be visiting again and will take my $$$ to Black-friendly businesses. Like the Ace which we went to afterwards and had a wonderful time.

Like others here, there's an internal debate between writing this review and sharing the gloriousness of this spot vs. keeping it my little secret. alas, in the era of COVID and businesses constantly vying for stability, I'd gladly trade in a selfish, peaceful night or two here if only to ensure the enduring success of Sunken Harbor Club.I am fortunate enough to live within a stone's throw of Gage & Tollner, of which SHC resides above, so my partner and I visited on a schoolnight, right around opening hour. If you can schedule your visit early, this is the best way to secure a seat without dealing with a wait, but I'd say even dealing with a wait is worth it for SHC.Like many bars, the menu is split up by intensity x style/flavor, starting with lighter drinks and then moving into more spirit forward and also the house rum collection. You probably couldn't find a bad drink on the menu, but knowing what you like will certainly help you navigate it. If not, the staff is readily available to help you make an informed decision. This bar however, is not the type of place to play it safe. Take advantage of the unique concoctions and adventurous flavor profiles, because you'll most likely be delighted with what you discover.

I am reluctant to share this treasure with the masses, because I had such a nice time last night. I am so happy to have Sunken Harbor back, after having enjoyed it many years ago at Fort Defiance in Red Hook. Welcome back, you were missed! We loved our cocktails, I was thrilled to be back in a nice bar again, and we our service was exquisite. It was a dream environment (I have already scoured the web for a playlist), and I look forward to many happy returns. (My words have been copied and pasted from another review site to save myself time.)

A total delight. Expertly made cocktails in a immersive setting. Extraordinary experience.

Long story short, Sunken Harbor Club is everything you would want in a tucked away spot.I travel the US for work and pleasure and I always aim to find amazing theme bars, tiki spots, and speakeasies worth venturing out for.The Sunken Harbor Club satisfies the theme bar itch with an incredibly well curated and delicate approach when compared to some of the loud and kitschy bars(which I also love). The environment is so well crafted and the menu matches. Drinks are artisanal and watching the bartender work is like watching craftsman honing in on their work.I really don't want to say too much because there is an immense amount of intention in the story, decor and general vibe that I feel you just have to discover for yourself. Please, if you go out of your way for one new bar in New York, check out Sunken Harbor Club.To the owner(s) well done! I hear there is more in the works from some of the staff and I will certainly be back to see how you continue the story of your bar.
