Food was absolutely amazing. We had the Ny strip and it was fenomenal, also a coffee dessert with ice cream was amazing. I’m not giving this place 5 stars just because of the service, our first server left in the middle of service, we didn’t know who our next server was, 2 line cooks ended up taking care of us (we sat at the chef’s counter) shout out to Matt and Martina! If you care more about food than service, definitely check out this place.
Food was 10/10 and once we were seated the service was great. However, really disappointed to be kept waiting for 30 mins past my scheduled table time with my (obviously) pregnant wife having to stand in the doorway. The prior customers at our table were clearly friends with the staff who were in no hurry to move them on despite the fact they had gone well over their dining slot. The staff also lied, telling us that the table was just being reset when we could see the other customers sitting there! Pretty unprofessional start to the meal - this should be sorted.
St. Anselm never disappoints! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Plus, the staff are all so kind, attentive, and knowledgeable.They're usually pretty busy, so even with a reservation, you may still end up needing to wait a little bit (totally worth it). They'll suggest you go to the bar next door to grab a drink (cute little bar with backyard area and great selection of beer and wine), and they'll come grab you when your table is ready. You can bring the drinks over to the restaurant, so you don't need to rush to finish your drink or anything. Honestly, it's all part of the experience. The food is amazing, drinks are great, and the dessert selection is excellent.
Dinner for two at the chefs bench. Very busy inside and so would recommend booking in advanced. Service for drinks was a little slow at the start but apart from that absolutely fine. Was really fun watching the grill and impressive that so few people were making that food. The food itself was cooked well and was very tasty. We had butchers steak and artichokes and spinach and sardines. Sticky toffee pudding was also great. Would recommend.
Came here to celebrate my birthday yesterday. LOVE the butcher’s steak! We had medium rare, and it’s PERFECT! So tender, the seasoning is awesome.Bacon, spinach, and smashed potatoes are tasty! Must try their Toffee Cake with vanilla ice cream. My first time having a toffee cake that’s not that sweet. (It’s a big compliment from Asian, IYKYK?)However, I won’t give five stars to the octopus. The taste was great, but the octopus was dry.Overall experience definitely worth five stars.
Dope AF.. Everything from the wine and apps to the main course was on point. Be ready to drop some $$$, despite that it's worth every penny. We sat in the back and it felt like our own private area. Def going back for my bday with the crew. Oh yea, the steak tar tar it's amazing.
Still my all-time favorite steak. Don't be scared, just get a friend or two and order the axe handle ribeye. Two of us crushed a 53 oz ribeye. The octopus, yellowtail collar, & spinach gratin are great starters & additions to dinner. Don't forget the wine! Extensive and well-curated wine menu is available. It is always a pleasure to watch the magic happen on the grill.
Really solid date night place. Cozy with good food and wine. We had the steak, which I heard was their specialty. It was good, but not nearly as good as the bone in skate, which was the biggest of ever seen. I opted for a port for dessert, but my date said hers was amazing. It was like some kind of bread pudding thing with ice cream. The service was also great and not over bearing. Left full, tipsy, and satisfied.
This steak was delectable. Perfectly seasoned and crisped on the edges. I asked for medium rare but it looked pretty rare, however that wasn’t a problem. Most people loved the pan fried mashed potatoes but I didn’t prefer them and that’s why it would get 4 stars, but it deserves them all. Also, the king beans were good but could’ve been seasoned a little better. Everything else was delectable. I got the burrata salad appetizer and it was delicious with the bread!! Highly recommend, ambiance was also precious.
