I figured I'd take gamble and got the Brooklyn Native thinking it sounded interesting but maybe a bit too overwhelming with so many different kinds of fish. But I really enjoyed it, everything came together really well!I also got some house picked herring on the side with picked onions and cream. I was brought right back to my childhood. Not to mention the decor and vibe of the place is a wonderful and charming homage to the Jewish culture.
Get a sandwich for lunch and enjoy life! What a great place to pick up snacks and lunch.
Great experience. Glad we went.Lox bagel is very satisfying.
Awesome service and bagels. Had a perfectly toasted bagel with cream cheese and pastrami salmon, perfectly constructed so that there was no excess cream cheese falling off the side. They also have the typical staples like picked herring.
Matzo ball soup is delivered frozen when ordering on a delivery app. It’s very tasty and comforting. We have COVID and 10/10 recommend the matzo ball soup as an elixir.
Had a Fancy Pants bagel from here for lunch, which had Sturgeon and House-Cured Gravlax. The fillings were delicious, and the bagel itself was the best I've had. I would definitely return again.
Excellent bagels and deli. Tuna salad sandwich was delicious. Chopped liver and pastrami were great too. Wish I had more room to take food home.
Great deli with impressive (and diverse) range of food. The whitefish was outstanding.
Ordered a Turkey and Swiss on a roll. I was charged $14.99 for the Turkey and roll, and an extra dollar for the Swiss. Credit card fee is an extra 3.5% which put this simple sandwich at $18.00. Unsurprisingly, the tip screen appears as you complete the transaction. At $18.00 for a basic sandwich I’d hope Shelsky’s is paying employees well enough not to depend on gratuity for the task of ringing me up. The sandwich was fine, nothing bad and also nothing memorable. While I am fortunate enough to afford the “luxury” of eating here, Ill never return.
A decent choice if you're looking for good bagels and various types of lox and spreads. They also sell specialty groceries, but expect to pay more than you desire after ordering a few bagels with some fillings.
