Shelsky's is always amazing. The only reason I can think of that it is rated lower than other places in the area is that it's a little pricier? But it costs more because they have all sorts of delicious combo sandwiches, like the Turboff that I got today (lox and baked salmon salad on a bagel with horseradish cream cheese!)The only issue is that they have all these inventive bagel sandwiches but they display their menu on TV screens that flash between different parts of the menu too quickly to actually read what's in all the options!
We used to love Shelsky’s but lately their sandwiches have been hit and miss. One of our favorite sandwiches is the Great Gadsby. Today we ordered it and it had way too much and poorly spread cream cheese. The fish was stringy and tough. It was not the well crafted sandwich of past. This sandwich costs way too much to be presented like this. Looking for other options now. It’s really too bad. I wanted to love Shelsky’s. I do not anymore.
I always get bacon & egg on toasted bialy with mayo and the oat scone. Both are scrumptious. The sandwiches sound delicious but they are pricey.
Gluten free bagel yeah! Clean and courteous.
The best bagels in brooklyn hands down. These are not these huge NYC bagels that will ruin your day. They're a tad smaller... but it's a good thing. Quite tasty.The only downside? Check your order. If I ask for whole wheat everything bagel, 9 times out of 10 I either get whole wheat or everything... If it happens once I figure it's a flop but almost every single time I go there I have to check the order and fix it before I leave....I'm not sure how/why it's happening... but it's also not keeping me from my beloved bagels.
The fish is excellent & the bagels taste good. The restaurant needs to have some paper menus available, & it'd be great if they're able to add espresso options or outdoor seating at some point.
Jalapeno cream cheese needs more jalapeno flavor
They have a great bacon egg and cheese.
This place is average and nothing special.Ran out of chicken salad during lunch.Had to settle for $13 tuna salad on bagels with chips.
Great bagels. Also have lard bread. The pretzel bagel us awesome with cream cheese!! ?
