A very good spot for food!I'm no expert on Caribbean food, but the food here is really well done. The Rasta pasta was delicious but I was hoping to get a little bit more chicken ($6 extra for chicken). Pasta had a great sauce and it was even better with Scotch Bonnet sauce. The frozen drinks are incredible.Service was good and the waiters are very helpful and friendly.A great experience overall!

Was a random walk-in into Sally Roots around 8 pm on Wednesday, and the place looked very inviting with comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. We decided to sit outdoors and the setup was good.We scanned their online menu and ordered beers - I got the Dos Equis priced at $7. My beer was quite flat unfortunately, but I did not bother flagging the staff about the same. We ordered Curried Chicken ($18) and Curried Vegetables ($17) as our mains, and while priced on a slightly higher side, the food was pretty good.Rice portion was a little light, and my curried veggies were slightly on the sweeter side. They contained medium chunks of carrot, potato, and celery, seasoned with Caribbean yellow curry sauce. It was not spicy and I wish they served it with some nice spicy scotch bonnet sauce. I also ordered a Pacifico ($6) which was slightly better than the Dos Equis.Service was good, food arrived within 20 minutes of placing our orders, and noise level was moderate - easy to have conversations. Overall - a good experience.

Delicious brunch ! Had the cheesy grits , French toast, bacon, and jerk chicken hash- all very tasty !Great cocktails and service too. Check it out !

My partner and I had a very nice dinner here in the gorgeous back patio. Good drinks & tasty food. Excellent and friendly service! Had the eggplant dip w/ plantain chips followed by the curried chicken and the duck. Will definitely come again and try some other dishes.

This really is one of the best places in the neighborhood. I have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. The service is always on point! The food is always piping hot and flavorful. Sometimes it’s hard to find a good spot to bring the kids that is equally amazing for a bar scene kinda vibe too. The outside seating area is cute too!

The food lacked luster and was flavorless. I wasted $120 on mediocre food on a Saturday date night. Caribbean food is known for having flavor that pops, this had none of that. When peas and rice are flavorless you know there’s a serious problem. My partner ordered the lamb shank with rice and peas, I had the duck confit mofongo, both were sub par, I can guarantee this would have been much better if I made these dishes at home. The food was not authentic, and I wasn’t expecting that but I expected it to be good- it wasn’t and I can’t emphasis enough how BLAND everything was- absolutely no flavor. If your craving Caribbean food skip this restaurant, Golden Krust it better.

Sally Roots service was great, and willing to help make the experience here awesome. For example, I did not like my first selection of the menu. I spoke with my waitress about it, she asked if I would like something else. Which I did, and my second selection off the menu was a lot better. My wife's meal, was lacking in the flavor department. To our surprise, the chef came to our table and asked if she liked her meal. My wife proceeded to tell the chef, that it was lacking in flavor. The chef asked my wife, if he could remake her meal. She said yes, and when the meal came back it was rather delicious. All in all, this is a cool spot to enjoy some food with some good company.

The ambiance, music, the drinks, the food, all were so delish. Their specialty drink "Benevolence, Benevolence" was super amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant. I wish it weren't so windy and cold during my visit. Otherwise, I would have dined in their yard...such a unique setup.

Came here for a joint birthday party last week with a large group and had a great experience. Staff was super helpful and accommodating. We wanted to be outside and were kept warm by the heaters. Food was delicious -- especially the jerk chicken. Our table also went crazy for the tater totes. Cocktails were also fun and diverse. Highly recommend.

Couldn't be happier having visited this Gem!! Tostadas were amazing (needed extra sauce),. Conch balls. Brisket and spare ribs were excellent. Service was impeccable.
