One of the best bakeries in the neighborhood with a great assortment of pastries, cookies and cakes! They also sell amazing macaroons! Very tasty and not over priced. Look forward to being back for more…
Small personal cakes were delicious, tripple chocolate mouse cake was a bit of disapointment (butter sugar type of recipe). Clean, staff doesn't really care who came first.
The customer service was appalling and the cake was mediocre. We ordered an Italian rum cake for our father’s 79th birthday. Over the phone they assured us they knew what to do and would have it ready for pick up. At the store they were confused and they hadn’t put the right name on the cake yet. We got home, blew out the candles, cut the cake and found out is was the WRONG cake! The cake they gave us was not what we ordered and had terrible preserved/ canned strawberries between the layers. The whipped cream was also very artificial tasting. When we called to complain about the wrong cake they didn’t apologize and tried to insist they should give us a $20 credit vs a full refund of $30+. It took multiple long frustrating convos for them to refund us and they never apologized. They did admit they failed to make the right cake but stated it more as an excuse than an apology.
I really LOVE this bakery! The staff are very welcoming and friendly. And their pastries are soooo delicious ? I can't get enough of their apple turnovers, almond croissants and cheese Danish! I had to tip the lady who served me, she is lovely ?
During our stay in Brooklyn, I volunteered to walk to this bakery everyday to get fresh bread for that nights meal. Of course, I also came back with a bag of different pastries every day too. There were so many I wanted to try, I had to go back every day and get something new. All were quite good and worth the daily 1 mile walk.
We bought a cannoli cream cake a few days ago. Usually the cake is fresh and full of cannoli cream. We have purchased the same cake 4x or 5x per year. This time around the cake had a liqueur taste and it was full of whip cream. I haven't seen the owner John Zito or his wife in the store recently. I am not sure if they own the business anymore or are running the day to day operations. This cake wasn't very good. I looked at a previous post on this forum and another individual had the same experience with a bad cake. I know all of the supplies are super expensive but customers are paying $20 or $26 for a whip cream cake. Do better.
An excellent quality neighborhood classic Italian Bakery. It's a very well run establishment with lots of customer service. And don't fret if you see a lines, these lines move quickly. Plus, that shows you how fast they turn their baked goods around. A great sign indeed. This is my family's go to bakery in Brooklyn and so far, I have not tried anything I didn't like! Check out the vanilla cake with raspberry mousse inside, in a purse sized and shaped cake. That's all edible chocolate!
It's as good as people say. The pastry and cakes..amazing. just gorgeous, beautiful designs, and everything very authentic and decadent. The only thing that gives Venieros (LES) an edge is that they have the miniatures of all the pastries which is a visual show stopper at events. I would give Remini the edge in terms of delciousness. Two great places to get authentic and elaborate Italian goodies.
