the goat curry and chicken adobo were extra ordinary. The staff was really helpful and friendly.

The food was decent.. my daughters each had a serving of tocino. My wife enjoyed the mussels with coconut sauce and I had the goat curry. We also ordered a large garlic fried rice

My family and I went to this restaurant a couple years ago and will always remember it for its amazing food and hospitality. The chef even came to talk to us. He showed us a book he wrote that shows the amazing food of the Philippines and he gave us free desserts. We had an amazing conversation and the food reminded us of home. If you are thinking of maybe eating here, you should! You would never regret it!

Some of the best Filipino food in NYC. Great prices and portions. The staff are super sweet and accommodating. Good selection of Filipino beers and sweets.

My family and I had an excellent experience dining at Purple Yam earlier this month. The owner/chef, Romy Dorotan, was very warm, hospitable, and genuinely cares about the quality of food he delivers to his guests. All of the food was excellent – from the sisig, to the lechon kawali, to the tempura-like ukoy – it was all very delicious and brought back memories of eating a good home cooked meal from our relatives back home. He was kind enough to sit with us and share a little background about his story and how he ended up in NY, and you can tell he is passionate about what he does. Highly recommend!

I recently moved the Brooklyn from Queens and being that I am filipino, it’s very hard to find a filipino restaurant anywhere else besides Queens. When I found this place, I was a bit skeptical and questioned if this restaurant was an authentic place that served filipino food. So I ordered a sisig, lechon kawali, and Kare kare. The sisig was a 8/10. Great flavor had the chili and big portion! The lechon kawali was a 10/10 great big portion and filled my craving. Kare Kare is my favorite filipino dish so I had to try it out at this place. I have to say I wish they gave more oxtails than vegetables. The sauce could have been creamer, maybe it need more peanut butter? Also it did not have tripe in it and Kare Kare is usually made with both oxtails and tripe. I was a little disappointed about that but overall it fulfilled my craving. Will definitely be going to this place again!

My favorite Pinoy Resto❤️

So delicious ukoy and eggplant salad were our favorite. Great beer selection and attentive service too.

My go to spot in ditmas park! Mussels, pork belly, & goat curry are amazing… as is everything else there! Super sweet staff.

This food was so dank, and the folks working here are so sweet and great! Probably the best dressed waitstaff ever, and so friendly and nice. Incredible desserts.
