We wanted to try a different taco spot and we were very pleased with Plaza Ortega. When you walk in, there is a grocery store with Mexican goods, so you go to the counter to order your food then sit down. The interior is decorated with beautiful Talavera tiles and sombreros, so it feels like you are in Mexico. I think it’s something about the lighting that gives it that feel lol.I ordered the birria combo that came with 3 tacos and consomé for $12. The birria had tender beef rich with flavor. The consomé came out hot with generous amounts of beef in it. Came with green and red salsa- the red salsa had a nice smoky taste from the chiles. Very fresh toppings! Delicious food, we will be back.

I can’t believe I live so close to this amazing place!! I usually pre-order a fresh juice they are so delicious. I’ve also had the torta and that was great. The ice cream and paletas are soooo yummy!!! The staff is very friendly as well :) Please stay open forever!!
Every bite we had here was delicious, and we even ordered a second round of everything. Everything tasted great, arrived fresh and hot, and the person who helped us was super nice! I can't wait to come back and eat my way through their menu.
The chicken milanesa Cemita is incredibly tasty! The Birria tacos are so flavorful too. So glad I found this place, will definitely keep coming back.
Only got to try the delicious popsicles and they were amazing! So many fresh fruit flavors to try. What a treasure this place is. Sounds like all their food is wonderful too.
Excellent food and very authentic Mexican store I love it
The food is sooo good and reasonably priced. The staff was super friendly and we felt really comfortable eating at the little cafe. The fish tacos were lightly breaded and amazing the hot sauces are incredible! My friend got the ramen and loved it.
I’m on a mission to try everything on their menu because everything they’ve served is flavorful. I have to say I am BEYOND impressed with their açaí bowl. I’ve spent years looking for a place that makes them correctly. They know how to make a good açaí bowl! Usually places get the consistency wrong and taste bland but their base is delicious, the toppings are on point and the granola they use is delicious! Also I have to add the customer service is great.
One of my favorite places to go in bushwick. The owners are extremely friendly. The place is decorated tastefully and beautifully Mexicano. Always clean and lots of options of fresh produce, candy, drinks, and snacks from Mexico.It’s a cool place because it’s so many things in one. It also has a juice bar, a small place to eat at their restaurant and it’s a bodega. I love it here and can’t wait to continue to come back and enjoy all that they have to offer.Gracias Plaza Ortega por todo.
