If you’re a fan of soul food, this place is for you. Some of the best fried chicken, collard greens, and mac and cheese I’ve ever eaten. We live a few blocks away and regularly visit.
The Chicken and Toast and Grilled Shrimp was banging. Probably top two french toast I have ever had because of the fluffiness and edge crunch on that thang. The fresh fruit on the side was a great touch and the chicken was pretty well seasoned and fried. Additionally plenty of melanin in the place and the music was on point. Not too loud where you cant hear your friend talking, but loud enough to vibe. I'm going back soon since it's in the neighborhood to try some other dishes; sidebar the grits looked pretty good so perhaps that. Go get you some food from here.
My 2nd time here and I will return. They made my catfish too crunchy this time but it was juicy and tasteful. I love the salad and fries too. Small neighborhood eatery with low lighting and a limited menu but nice service.
The food an service was great , jus wish the food was fresh hot out the pan . But over all it was good.
Wow you guys, when I say the quality of the food is true Sourhern taste. My table ordered every side and the popular dishes on the brunch menu. EVERYTHING WAS FANTASTIC. The only reason I gave it a 4 was because the server appeared uninterested when engaging the table but it also looked like she was bar tending as well. Go here, you won’t regret it!
Like every experience, it all comes down to your experience at that time. Mine was great. A quaint little spot in Bed-Stuy that you can almost miss if you’re not paying attention. It was not packed at the time we went, 2:30PM on a Tuesday.Service was great and the food was better. If you get “hot” for any of the items, it’s REALLY HOT. It’s a dry heat which tends to be more spicy than a wet sauce heat. I suggest ordering items regular and asking for the hot seasoning on the side. The drinks were phenomenal as well. I love a good southern meal, and it was surprising to find that up north. Definitely eating here again when in Brooklyn. It was worth every penny.
The service here is fast and there was no wait time. This was on a Friday night after work. The food was hot, fresh, and came out fast. The drinks are especially good, any of them. Not too pricey. Parking is not easy. Beware, the hot spicy chicken is pepper hot! Tread lightly. I order from here often, first time dinning in. It is small and cold inside right now because it’s January. Cheers and enjoy.
Hey B&C peaches hothouse Thompson’s Ave needs help. The food has left a lot to be desired. Checked is either too salty or no taste at all. Collards are much too salty I live refused to order anything more I. Fear that it will become a waste of money! To add more there’s no TV. Imagine that when there’s a football playoff etc. that’s why we come to the neighborhood spot. To commune, eat and purchase libation. All absent and no care from the upper echelon to hire staff that can prepare dishes that Peaches would expect.!!! HELP. HELP. I’d like to be able to come around the corner instead of driving my car so another community. Craig and Ben do something anything for everyone soon!
This place is amazing. Came here for lunch, to celebrate a friend's birthday. I knew they had the little greenhouses, but just when I got there I realized how cute and practical they are. First of all, when the sun is shining you don't even need the heater: you'll feel like a tropical plant in a greenhouse. We even had to open our roof a little because it was getting too warm.
My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant while browsing the Holiday Popup Shops and Markets that Tompkins street features. We waiting about 15-20 mins which was fine considering it was a Sunday around 2pm. They have the option to sit outside or in a heated igloo/house. Which were Very cute! We sat inside and while the restaurant is small we had ample space The service and food was wonderful. I had the chicken and toast as my partner got the chicken sandwich. Can’t wait to go back!
