Wide selection of dessert. But I recommend their gelato over the bakeries.Ordered tiramisu gelato and marble cheesecake. The gelato is creamy, nicely flavored, with fresh ingredients and not too sweet. However the cheesecake is such a disappointment - it doesn't have cream cheese flavor at all. Purchased a coconut cream cake for my boyfriends birthday. It was very good and moist, everyone loved it! All their cakes and pastries looked beautiful and prices are great.
We came to the city as tourists from Indiana and going to this fabulous bakery in Brooklyn was one of the greatest highlights of my trip I would gladly pay high dollar to have some cannolis shipped back to Indiana! I would likely return to the city just to go back!
Monteleone's is a very nice surprise that I am surprised that I have never visited before. What I liked about the bakery is the extensive selection of pastries in the cases and the fact that the prices are very reasonable. Bakeries around this part of Brooklyn are so high priced but not Monteleone's. All of their mini pastries were $2.00 and that was very fair. The woman that owned the place said that they keep prices fair for their customers. I had a mini pastry filled with cannoli cream that was absolutely delicious and each of the four bites had a rich sweet flavor and were generously filled with the cannoli cream that was sweet and rich. I also had a mini cream puff that was filled with sweet vanilla cream and topped with powdered sugar. I swear the quality of the baking and the ingredients really show not just in the appearance of their pastries but in the taste of each item. What I liked was there was a lot to choose from so it will require more trips to the bakery. The woman who ran the place said that they had owned it for 11 years and that the bakery has been around for almost 100 years. This is the reason why these bakeries are so successful. They know their product and they know their customer. Don't miss Monteleone's Bakery when you are in Brooklyn!
truly the best Sicilian pastry shop in Brooklyn and Manhattan! cannoli and lobster tails are the obvious favorites, but cassatina and marzipan are the shop's specialties. their cakes are gorgeous and most things are quite affordable--cheaper than venieros or court pastry shop, and superior in quality and flavor.
What a lovely authentic Italian Bakery! Highly recommend if you're in the area.
Fantastic bakery. The cookies are great especially the almond ones which are buttery. Any of the cookies are worth it. The small cakes are good but if you too sugar sensitive best to avoid as they are loaded. Great staff.
First time to go. Wow, a great selection of desserts. And delicious. Can't wait to go again, and try something else
