I was there on the 4th and watched Joey Chestnut do it again. I went in after it was over and had a couple and french fries. Delicious!
Im glad I tried it, so if anyone ever asks me again, I can say no. Absolutely not, and for good reason. The line took forever, not because it was actually long, there were 5 or 6 people ahead of us but it took an hour. Customers became very vocal about their frustrations, it was like being in a protest, but everyone was hungry. Employees gave 0 ?s. Everything was served cold. There was nowhere to sit so we sat on the beach where sand covered our hotdogs and cheesy fries.
There was some hype but sadly it missed the mark for us. I guess they thrive off the passing one of trade because the staff were surly teens, the food expensive & taste wasn’t great. The chips (fries) for example & onion rings just tasted mainly of rancid cooking oil. The hot dog looked and tasted no better than ones you can buy cold off the shelf at Walmart! The milkshake was nice but took 15mins to be given so we got our food first & basically had to stand at the counter. When I dared asked the server how much longer will the milkshake take she snatched the receipt out my hand and barked ‘you have only ordered one’. Yes I replied & we are still waiting. She muttered something to her colleague & 5 mins after that someone came over & slammed the milkshake on the counter with not a word said.
The lines were very long but it moved quickly & our order was correct. They have kiosks & cashiers available. Limited table seating but can't beat the view with plenty of boardwalk space to find a spot.
Great tasting hotdogs. They also have a variety of other things on the menu. They have burgers, chicken straps and chicken sandwiches.
Visiited coney island for my bday 30 degreee heat.... Went for nathans hotdog delicious juicy.. They have other stalls in coney island but i went for the boardwalk Jus be prepared to wait for them
If you visited Coney Island without going to Nathan's, did you really go? I'm a huge fan of hot dogs, no way was I leaving Coney Island without getting one from Nathan's. Is it the world's greatest hot dog......meh, I think not. But it's good. Really wish they would have had onions for the dog but the deli mustard was just fine. The dog was salty, juicy, cooked perfectly, had a great snap, and was presented on fresh bun. Though I did not order them, here they offer a wide variety of clams, burgers, and even frog legs(that's not a typo). The line is insanely long on weekends even in non peak hours. It moves incredibly slow for the number of cashiers they have. Though friendly to me, the cashiers looked pretty miserable and don't move very fast. After dealing with the clientele, who could blame them?
An awesome stop on the boardwalk. Historically famous and popular. Worthwhile if it's your first time there to get a dog. Fast and friendly servers are happy to help.
I've had Nathan's hot dogs at many other places. However something is different at the original location. I don't know how they do it, but the hot dogs here taste so much better.
Literally waiting a whole 30 min just for the burger and a 6 wings and it’s came out not good at ALL do not recommend here, I asked for sauce and they did not give it to me, made me wait a whole half hour for the wings that I can just get in Popeyes, plus it was so expensive $20.12 for a burgers and wings, my burgers was cold BECAUSE I WAS WAITING FOR THE WING, there was like 10 people working and NOBODY took my order like, bad experiencePlus it’s doesn’t looks like the picture of the board.
