Place is only doing take out not seating people to dine in (July 2022) which didn’t showed anywhere online since i looked on their website/ig/ google before heading all the way over there.Sadly after that I realize the good reviews were from years ago everything recent calls it a fraud.

After watching Iron Chef: Legends and rooting for Esther Choi kill it as a fellow Brooklynites with couldn’t be more excited to order from one of her restaurants - Mokbar BK. One of her sous chefs she brought on the show was the main chef from this restaurant and she absolutely killed it during the competition! We ordered food on Uber Eats and delivery was very fast (~30 minutes). We ordered variety of things - classic ramen just as a baseline, house special kimchi ramen, dumplings and the famous Korean chicken. Below is the review of the food:We started with the Korean chicken and it looked very good. It had this glassy texture although on the bite it did not have the crunch that we were expecting. We ordered it spicy, but there was hardly any bite to the chicken and the seasoning on it was good, but not great.Next we went to the dumpling which was probably the best part of the meal. The sauce made them they were steamed to perfections and were overall pleasant.Lastly the biggest disappointment were the ramen dishes. The broth tasted like it had a years worth of sodium intake in it. Extremely salty. Despite the salt which affected the chef significantly. The meat in both of the dishes was very bland almost boiled, egg did not add any taste or texture. Noodles were fine. Kimchi was very mediocre (this restaurant suppose to be famous for kimchi). Very very disappointing.Maybe we set our bar too high. Seeing Chef Choi present judges with perfect food and them saying that was the best food they ever eaten made us dream of it. But the unfortunate reality is that the food wouldn’t just not be worthy of an excellent restaurant. It wouldn’t be eaten from any restaurant. We tried to like it very hard. Looking for a perfect bite. But sad truth that at best the food was good/ok. At worst with ramen dishes plainly unbeatable. I hope Mokbar will find a way to meet the expectations they set by appearing on iron chef. Because at this moment the food they are serving is not great.

after my experience here, i was surprised to hear that they have another location in manhattan..the dishes were quite salty..it is "korean fusion" foodthe concept is good, but execution not so good..

Vibe: Only takeout because COVID unfortunately.Value: Wish the portion size was larger for the cost.Dishes:Korean Curry - Had all the right flavors but was rather runnier than expected.

Absolutely the worst Korean food I have ever had. Was not even close to any Korean food I have had in Korea or in the US

No kimchi in the Pork Belly Kimchi (Jaeyook) dish. Rice was rock hard. Came in a bento plastic box with 1 potato, sliced cucumber, thin sliced cabbage as sides. There’s no kimchi at all even though the dish’s name has kimchi in it. Pork belly did not taste like freshly prepared. Similar to the pre-made ones comes with a ramen.Maybe can give it a try in person but I would never order takeout again.

Their ho-cakes are ? & fun to say out loud

20 year Air Force Veteran. Grew up in a Korean neighborhood outside of DC, spent years in South Korea. Worst Korean food I ever had. Expected better in NY. Kimchi had no soul, Bulgogi dog food. Shut down. Yuk.

Ordered to-go.I looked at the menu online while commuting via subway to figure out what I wanted to have for lunch.Upon arriving at the location, a person which turned out to be one of the employees held the door open for me (they also just arrived). Then, I realized there were two separate entry ways. One where customers place and pick-up orders and the other for workers of the restaurant. There is a good variety of food for people to enjoy.I was recommended to add Bulgogi Ribeye to the Royal Bibim Bap (7 types of market vegetables on top of grain rice, fried egg, gochujang sauce, gim:dried seaweed, choice of bulgogi beef, pork, chicken, or tofu). I got a side of Halmoni Dumplings (pork, zucchini, tofu, kimchi, cabbage), a jar of Cucumber Kimchi, as well as a jar of Napa Kimchi to bring home. The food was delicious and my order could have been shared between two people.I will be revisiting to place orders in the future. Ho’cake (crispy bun filled with heavenly pork belly, kimchi hot sauce) is next on my list of foods to try.

two days ago was the first time we went to this good restaurant. But It is definitely not the last time. We enjoyed the evening a lot with the generous service, with the high quality food and booze and with the comfortable cost. We will no doubt come back in a short time.
