Yes the viennoiserie was good. Mixed reviews on the coffee. But the post-apocalyptic décor is depressing. Can't tell if the place is dirty or clean. The beat up lawn furniture chairs are exceedingly uncomfortable. Place looks like it belongs in a Mad Max movie. They sure didn't spend money on the build out. But maybe I'm just not hip.
Best plain croissant in Greenpoint
Pretty awful experience here. Took 45 min for avocado toast, a breakfast bowl and a slice of quiche and all were bland. The avocado toast was supposed to come with pumpkin seeds, chili flakes, cilantro, and flaky salt…none of that was included. The avocado tasted like sabra guacamole spread. The ratatouille bowl was bland and soggy, tasted like nothingness and was a pile of glob. The quiche was also extraordinarily bland, soggy, and slimy.. no flavor at all. Plus, overpriced… $50 for three awful tasting dishes. Embarrassingly bad. Super disappointing because it’s a new spot in our neighborhood and the aesthetic is great, but we’ll not be returning.
Coffee was fine, egg sandwich left a lot to be desired, like a cooked egg. I love a runny yolk, but the "white" was runny, like a clear slimey booger. The stewed cherry tomatoes overpowered all the other flavors, including the bacon jam.If you're looking for a breakfast sandwich, better to head to a deli or bodega, for a real bacon egg and cheese at a fraction of the price.
The space is small with about 4-5 tables but they have outdoor seating. Very rustic with visually appealing food. Our food came quickly but they forgot about our drinks, however, when reminded they were apologetic and made our drinks immediately. I got a large honey vanilla latte, chocolate almond croissant, papa bowl, and Lorraine quiche for a total of $35. The food was delicious, the croissant was moist but the quiche was bland. Overall it’s a cute spot.
Promising new coffee & breakfast nook with good pastries. Was going to be one of my regular "on my way to work" spots until I came the second time and was not treated very kindly by one of the counter servers/baristas. I took it agreeably but too expensive to warrant the disagreeable service. Will hopefully have reason to change my review in the future.
went to other locations two years agothe pastries were ok but not amazedthe croissant arent flaky at allbut the environment was really nice thocame here during weekdays but still crowdedgood place to take pictures
Lovely pastries, but the best part of Maman is the friendly staff. He is always polite and smiley(in voice with the mask on ;)) He even checked my coffee temperature!
Great coffee place, beautiful design, great breakfast and brunch dishes and nice variety of pastries, cookies and cakes.
The food at Maman is delicious, and it is a very cute restaurant. Some of the tables are communal, which may not appeal to some. We liked that they do not allow computer usage, so you did not here the constant click as you were enjoying your meal.
