I want to love this place, but I don’t. The people who work here are all so nice, truly everyone was kind, polite, smiled … but they still don’t provide good service and you can tell there are regulars of course and the staff are very interactive with them but service suffers, right down to filling an empty water glass or asking if you’d like more wine or even silverware. It’s just hard to overlook how difficult it is to enjoy a meal with an empty wine glass and no fork to eat with or napkin if you are in fact eating. I could have easily stayed and had more wine, something else to eat, possibly dessert, but … not someplace I would go back to.

This place had some really good food! But we had some problems with our experience. The drinks are delicious I highly recommend the hibiscus. For food we decided to order a bunch of plates to share and ordered the: mezza platter, brussel sprouts and shawarma sandwich. We also ordered the fried zucchini but they brought us out the feta cheese platter instead. They didn’t bring us the fried zucchini and charged us for the cheese platter which we did not order. Also the mezza platter comes with hummus, baba ganoush, Labne and tabouleh but the tabouleh wasn’t traditional and looked more like quinoa.

Nice Brooklyn NY eatery. The food is much better quality in NY then most other American destinations. It ain't Paris, but it's pretty good for high sodium, processed food made by conglomerate corporations.

I never write reviews but here's a long one for you.The manager (our waitress) mistook my order, my order never came after an hour so I cancelled, she did not even apologize and made us feel like "our bad attitude" was the reason my plate never came, and she did not try to handle the situation or offer any alternative. She also charged our lemonades as $10 mocktails which when we asked her about her response was "get used to it this is Williamsburg" and just shrugged. She was screaming at us the entire time we were having a conversation and she called us thieves and threatened to call the cops because we did not want to pay for our late dishes and overpriced "mocktails".It's obvious that they are understaffed because no one wants to work for her. She was fighting with the bartenders while we were there. She is very entitled and has no experience working in the service industry at all.In additon, as an Arab I was very excited to try the authentic Lebanese cuisine they claim to offer but it does not even come close to the real deal.Overall, horrible experience and I would never recommend this place.

Wife and I are from out of town visiting son in Brooklyn. Stopped by Magdalene's on Saturday night and had super time at this family run spot. Food was outstanding, but the staff is what really made it a fun night. Made reservations which was key at least on this night.

I went here over the weekend and while the service wasn’t great but the amazing food made up for it… so I took some friends here tonight and it was horrible. NOt only was the service atrocious but half of the tables entrees arrived 30 mins after the others… which would have been fine if there had been some kind of acknowledgment from the staff about the mishap. Instead we were met with a curt, unfriendly and unapologetic manager who seemed to be giving us an attitude. In addition to all of this —when we finally received our entrees it was over cooked and served with a side of wilted, flavorless kale…I get it- we are all short staffed and the restaurant industry is hard but it doesn’t hurt to treat your customers with kindness and consideration when it is clear you are dropping the ball.

Great place for brunch! Came a few times and go the pain perdu and hot cakes, both were good but also very similar in terms of the toppings. Either one would be a good choice if you are looking for a sweet brunch item.

Tonight was my first time eating at Magdalene’s and it quite pleasant! I’ve passed it countless times, being that it’s in such a central location, but just hidden enough that it’s not too chaotic. The food was super tasty and the service was incredible! The staff were not only friendly and timely but they felt extremely authentic. Specifically Maxence, my waiter for the night. He made me smile countless times. They were such a sweetheart. I felt well taken care of even with the numerous tables they were attending. The music was great too!!

This is a super special place to eat in Bk. Excellent and unique drinks, extremely flavorful meals and possibly the best happy hour in Wburg! I have taken many of my friends here when they come to visit and they are consistently impressed. Highly recommend.

Great food and service, fun time!
