I was having super intense cravings during my ‘time of the month,’ and couldn’t figure out what it was. Once I figured out that it was this restaurant, I sent in an order, and had it in a half hour. It tasted so good that I literally cried . Their chicken and their cornbread is close to heaven, and their vegetables make me feel more deeply emotionally than a majority of my relationships with men. 100/10
First time ordering and everything tastes great. Sauces on point (harissa and green), well seasoned chicken, tender juicy short rib and the Moroccan side is delicious, good enough to be a main. This will go up to 5 stars if the next time is just as good!Great find!
This fried cauliflower is making me question everything I've ever felt about cauliflower. Greens need more seasoning but I'm not complaining. I have salt. The chicken... It's perfect. The cornbread? THE CORNBREAD? I can't even get started. One of these days I might just order cornbread and fried cauliflower alone because the two of them are breaking my hear right now. I'm in love.
We have been ordering from Lula Bird for about a year now. Started on the sandwich, with its delicious black pepper mayo and pickled onions/jalapenos. Then moved to the half chicken combo; a perfect dinner for two and the rotating sides make it a repeatable option (shoutout Tuesday's Mac 'n Cheese and Thursday's Sweet Potato Puree). Tonight, we tried the short ribs for the first time and, frankly, I will think about these short ribs for the rest of my life. They were buttery, savory, sweet and oh so tender. Anyways. Nothing better if you are in the area, and it's so well priced. Vive (Lu)La Bird!
I wish I got a photo before we tore it up but this was the best delivered meal I’ve ever had. I got the 1/4 chicken with rice, squash and cornbread and every single thing tasted like a home cooked delicious meal. The corn bread is sweet and delicious. The chicken was moist and flavourful with a big serving. I cannot believe this gems been in my neighbourhood and I only just tried it. A great lunch spot with varying side dishes throughout the week.Our second time we tried the eggplant stew, collard greens and cous cous. All still delicious. The roasted squash has been my favourite side so far.
Good just wish my food was seasoned a bit more and some sides especially veggie sides were made daily. The coleslaw is really good.
If you love herbaceous, flavorful, perfectly seasoned chicken and sides, then this is the restaurant for you! One of my favorite finds in Brooklyn and is surely a staple if you’re in the area. I order once a week at least and try to time it around my favorite sides. They rotate special sides that are easy to taste how each one they care about. Also their cornbread is out of this world! I’m trying to figure out the spice combination on the chicken that gives it such an amazing flavor while also feeling clean on the pallete. The potatoes are the must have go to and if you’re in on a Friday, I recommend the CousCous. Another entree that will blow you away is their short rib! The flavor in one serving with vegetables soaked in the drippings is heavenly! Only downfall is there’s been no seating, so you have to take it home. But honestly it’s so good you’ll walk to their nearest bench to indulge without the wait! It’s that kind of good that you can’t wait to get home ?
Been ordering from this place for a while now. In my opinion, it’s the best rotisserie chicken out there. Juicy, perfect seasoning and all the side dishes are terrific. Their corn bread is also 5 stars.
Absolutely solid joint for a homestyle dinner. I've had almost everything off the menu over the course of 2021 and it's all fantastic! My fav combo is the braised short ribs, roasted potatoes and collard greens. The chicken is ALWAYS well seasoned, juicy and delicious but those short ribs hit different lmao. The mac and cheese is solid too! Only 2nd to Socos mac, but u know that cast iron changes everything.All in all if you were considering ordering in or visiting just go for it--- you will not be dissapointed!
