Great prices for food and drinks $$. The restaurant has an nice area outside in the back where people can sit. The food is great and tasty, the employees treated me nicely. I never observed an long wait time for food. Its a great place to take a date and it’s a great place to take a group of ur friends to and not spend a lot. I don’t really have any complaints as of yet.
I got the tofu pad see yue and the coconut mango sticky rice. My favorite part was the hot sauces. The tofu had a great texture. Only thing would be a deeper (fresher?) flavor in the noodles because they mostly tasted pretty sweet with wok flavor. I would go back just for the coconut mango sticky rice!
Since I have been here before and the food is okay, this is why I'm not giving them one a one star. Nevertheless, we have reserved a week prior a table for 12. Three hours before, we called to confirm the reservation for 8:30pm. We walk in exactly 8:37 p.m and the owner himself advised because we are late and he can no longer seat us. Also that he has business to do since it's covid and he has been in this business for 23 years and this is what he does. He proceeded to draw "23" as well with his fingers. His tone was very rude and even had some guests turn heads who were seated nearby. When looking around, all tables seated already had food on their plates, seems that they were not even ready for us. We asked what would be the wait to get us seated, and he said nothing at all is available and started throwing snarly comments. We had family from out of town and for such a large group it was incredibly hard to find a spot that can accomdate all of us inna friday night. Very unprofessional, especially from the owner himself. Moral of the story, do not make reservations for large groups. I'm sure this isn't the first time this happened.
I live in the neighbourhood and have ordered takeout from Joya a few times over the past year, normally it passes for pretty good Thai food. However my most recent experience was not good and prompted me to write this review. First, the food. I ordered a stir fry and while eating it found 3 staples in the meal - there is no way they were from the takeout packaging, they had just fallen into the food and I had to spit them out. Second, the owner / guy who manages pickup orders wasn't wearing a mask despite it being State law to do so (this is something we had seen before). So overall, a very negative experience and will not be returning when there are other good options in the n'hood.
Let me start off by saying I have going to this restaurant for years, and in all the years I’ve been going here I’ve never had such terrible service as my boyfriend and I did last night.I know that Friday night is probably one of the busiest nights, I get it I work in a kitchen. However the poor service started at the bar and continued on throughout the night. The Bartender have my boyfriend and I a slight acknowledgment when we sat down, two women walked in after we’d already been sitting in and he eagerly made his way over to them, didn’t offer us a menu or even out napkins down; as we were going to order drinks because we’d been waiting for a table for a while. When I asked the bartender for a menu he scoffed and waived me off and then asked for our vaccine to check us in but we’d already been checked in because we had been there for a little bit. We watched as he dotted on these women and through at the point we should have left I didn’t want that to ruin the night. As we finally got seated I mentioned the interaction with the bartender to the manager and she acknowledged it but really it didn’t feel as though she was equipped to handle the blatant discrimination that just happened. The waiter wasn’t attentive he took our drink orders and didn’t come back for a while and another waiter noticed this and tried to step in and when that happened our original waiter waved him off. We ordered drinks first then apps and then entree. Nothing was served to our table together. Everything was served sporadically. The drinks were comped I supposed because of everything that happened but those were terrible. I ordered a pomegranate mojito and it tasted like cough syrup, I sent it back for a classic one and that one too still tasted like cough syrup. While I’ve patronized this place plenty of times, the service from yesterday was unforgivable and would never return to this place. The bartender was disgusting and the waiter was rude and inattentive
I’ve had the worst experience ordering from this restaurant. I ordered the pad Thai, the red curry noodles (in pictures, I also have a video), and the spicy chicken and pineapple fried rice. Though I didn’t receive the best customer service while ordering, I didn’t pay too much mind to it because I just wanted some food. I hadn't eaten all day and it was already around 2/3 in the afternoon. When I got the food, which came out pretty fast (within 10 mins of waiting), I went straight to my car and started sharing some food with my sisters. It wasn’t until I got in the middle of my bowl of red curry that I saw the longest hair. The hair was at least 6-8 inches long. I know that this was not my hair because I have short 4C hair that is currently loc’d. I immediately went back to the restaurant to return the food and receive a full refund. When I got back, the same man was there and I explained to him there was a hair in my red curry. He tried to get me to refund the one bowl only, which I then explained to him that I wanted my full refund back. He asked if there was anything wrong with the rest of the food and I told him I was uncomfortable consuming the rest after finding the hair in my bowl, and the conversation stopped there. He did a post void for my order and without a word, put my receipt on the counter and walked away. I would like to add, he didn’t hand me the receipt and it almost flew off of the counter and he walked away without even an apology. If I could rate 0 stars, I would. The customer service was absolutely terrible. I would never recommend this place, even to my worst enemy.
One of my favorite Thai Food Spots in NYC. Very reasonable pricing and quality food. The location is very modern. Make sure you order the sticky wings ?
This place was recommended by the a friend.I call in my Order . I came in asking about what else she recommended. No comments just gave me a menu like to say leave me alone. When I arrived home my wife this food was a waste of time and moneyOrder the large ribs and chicken fried rice.HORRIBLE.CUSTOMER SERVICE 1star food 1star price over rated.Would never go here
Excellent Thai restaurant in Cobble Hill. Great service and big portions. Recommended.
Good Value and tasty food... we particularly enjoyed the Green Curry with Chicken and Eggplant plus other veggies. The spare ribs were meaty and had a nice tamarind spice flavor. We started the meal with Mango Salad
