This is authentic. The staff, the food and the ambiance. Food is great and the price is reasonable. The staff is really nice even when we had so many questions about certain dishes.

My husband and I are very VERY frequent patrons of Joe’s of Avenue U for years. Today’s order came with a side of ROACH. There was not one but two pieces of cockroach’s inside my husbands chicken parm. Absolutely disgusting!!!
For us just not what all the reviews brag about. We enjoyed the Pasta dish (oil and garlic) but the chicken parm was off a little bit, I’ve definitely had better. We also had the stuffed artichoke and for us it was ok. Definitely not the “best” out there according to some reviews. Unfortunately it’s not worth the 1/2 hour round trip drive and definitely not worth the 6 dollar delivery fee. We are staying in Brooklyn for a few months (originally born and lived in Bklyn for 30 years) and I’ve had way better food from local pizzerias. Had to try just because of the great reviews but definitely not going back.
Panelle Sandwich Supreme & Vastedda are always good choices at a Sicilian restaurant. I’ve had the Panelle Supreme & Vastedda at Fernandos Foccaceria in Carrol Gardens and this was equally as good. Chicken Parm hero also delicious. Veal Salloponi, Pulpo Salad and baked clams rounded out my experience. Next time I’d like to try the meatloaf. Maybe a chicken cutlet Milanese sandwich too and add ricotta & cheese to any sandwich the sign said. Good experience.
I only go because my friends go there and it's easy to park around 4 to 6 pm. But the food is laying out all day. The service is great ?
Always fresh delicious food, variety of seafood is amazing and very fresh. I have never had any stomach issues after lunch there. Lovely place, great people , and desserts are just fire !!!
Always great to go to Joe's and have a rice ball special. If you love The Sicilian way of cooking Joe's can't be beat. Stop in and grab some good old home cooking.
