If you want good Indian food, this restaurant is a must!! Loved the taste of everything i ate here, especially loved the palak chaat. I had never tried that dish before but it was delicious. Their garlic naan is one of the best i’ve had. The hostess was warm and welcoming. Would visit again.
If you book this spot - people will talk about your event, but they WILL NOT say good things.I would give 0 stars if I could. Unfortunately for my family we had a horrible experience when we booked the event hall for my sisters nikkah dinner. We were so embarrassed in front of our guests. We had around 200 guests and all our guests were SWEATING! The tables were plastic folding tables and we weren’t allowed to touch their previous backdrop set up. For $4500 this was NOT WORTH IT. If you wanna know the whole experience continue reading:There was a misunderstanding regarding the origin of the event - the owners thought we had a non profit event and provided us a discount making our total $3000. The day of dinner, my cousins and I came by to decorate and we were immediately YELLED AT BY THE MALE OWNER, disrespected by the hostess and called liars because we tricked them for a discount? We were so confused and embarrassed. The guy started yelling at my elderly father until my sister stepped in. If it was a matter of money they could have explained the misunderstanding and just asked for more money - you are in the service industry after all. Instead we were insulted and disrespected. We paid $1500 more since they thought it was a non profit but it was a private event for a total of $4500.. okay that’s fine… how does a place cost $4500 but the ac doesn’t work, and they are using picnic tables? With the money we spent here we could have gotten a much better spot with proper ac so our guests wouldn’t be uncomfortable, some place cleaner and who would allow us to decorate.
I had a wonderful experience visiting Jalsa yesterday. The food was incredibly tasty and included both traditional cuisines and original dishes that were created by the inspired chef. Generous portions beautiful served, and very friendly staff. The owner is very kind and wonderful too… don’t forget to ask her about the non-profit she runs! It’s so nice to see a group of people serving the community in a variety of ways. So much heart at Jalsa!

We had naan, butter chicken and chicken biryani and it was awesome. We chatted with the owner and it turned out her husband and we were from the same city. It was nice talking to people in a city we were just tourists. She gave us kheer (payesh) and khichdi as complimentary and they were great too.
After a long day of travel, my friend and I stopped in to finally have dinner. The service was quick and friendly. We were served by one of the owners, who gave us really helpful recommendations. We got the okra chaat, which was delicious and the owner told us the story of how the recipe came about–involving her son and a rescued pet pigeon! We got the eggplant saalan and the chicken jalfarezi. It was so good and came out fast too. The service was warm and familiar. We had a great time!
Had a best Valentine’s date here! Such cute decorations and delicious food. Affirmed that I don’t need to drive to Queens for a quality ethnic meal. BK bound here I come!

Probably one of the best Indian spots I’ve had. Little upset they don’t deliver and I had to use Uber east cause fees are crazy but it was so worth it!! Everything is so yummy and nicely spiced where I’m dying for water but it’s a good heat! Would 100% get again and definitely super affordable, whole meal was around 20$ and I had left overs.
