After a hot morning walk along the Brooklyn Promenade we decided to pop into Jacques Torres to get out of the sun for a bit and grab a snack. Now full disclosure, we’d seen a Food Insider review of the “Best Cookies in NYC” and this was one of the featured shops so we had an idea what we were getting into… When we got ourselves to the counter there was 3 options of cookies to choose from: - Signature Chocolate Chip - Dipped Signature Chocolate Chip - Pecan Having seen the review of the Signature Chocolate Chip, we knew we were getting one of them. Being that there was 2 of us and we’d already clocked in 12,000 steps by 10am we opted for a second one with the Dipped variety being the next choice. At $4 a piece in a professional chocolatier we had no qualms with the price, little did we know that as the dipped one was broken when picked up, we got the broken one along with another non-broken replacement - we really lucked out there!!! The Dipped cookie - WOW! That chocolate is divine and coupled with a great cookie dough it provided a sweet but with a slight hint of salt flavour. The Signature chocolate chip cookie is hilts not dipped in chocolate tasted completely different. As there was less chocolate it really emphasised the dough aspect and this cookie was more of a chewy cookie experience that was stunning. We sat in and had our cookies in the air con, watching Brooklyn go by from the window. All in all, a great experience. The service was fantastic and friendly. I can see why Jacques was pulled into “Nailed It” as a judge!
The chocolates are great, but the gelato and ice cream were really some of the best I’ve had in the city.
YUM YUM YUM! This is my go-to staple chocolate place. There are so many different chocolate items!! From bars, to drinks, etc. There staff is very well organized as well. The prices are quite high but that is expected. I would highly recommend.
Best hot chocolate ever! They also have a frozen version for summers which is also amazing!
Artisan chocolate? Love. I miss this here. In Europe every city has so many choices. Oh, BTW, the chocolate was great. Finished it off in a day and will definitely return. Really sweet salespeople made it so enjoyable.
This chocolate store is a staple to Brooklyn. My husband had been purchasing the large rooster for over 15 years for his momPurchased today along with other chocolate ( photo to come once she opens it )Staff was friendly and helpful … chocolate made on site .. they also offer hot chocolate, coffees cookies & gelatoStore is small but their chocolate is excellent… definitely a little pricey but worth the cost for good quality
Went on a bus tour of chocolate stores in Brooklyn and this was our 1st stop. Got delicious samples of their bon bons. And a big shout out to their associate, Emma, who was the only one scheduled while our bus load was there. She handled it gracefully.
The chocolate hazelnut spreads are pure heaven and so clean. The chocolate bars are delicious. The truffles are amazing.
A great place to indulge and have sugar overdose! You can find hot chocolate in different forms and tastes! and all kinds of fancy chocolate in a very pretty cafe with the option to buy as souvenirs. The staff are friendly and brighten the atmosphere.
Best hot chocolate in the world! Whilst travelling NYC we did a tour of Brooklyn and came across this place, 2 years later and i'm still dreaming of their hot chocolate. My only complaint is they don't ship internationally to New Zealand! I would travel back to NYC just for another cup of this hot chocolate and that is saying something considering we were not fans of NYC
