Good Turkish food, but I simply cannot understand how after all this time they don't give you close to enough bread to eat the mixed appetizer. With a small order they give you one piece of bread, which is only enough if you really stretch it thin. A large order? Also one piece of bread. Bro, I'm buying twice the hummus/babaganoush. I need twice the bread. They do always include a spoon, so you can eat your hummus like a bowl of rice, so I guess that's a plus. Even when I'm in the store, I'll ask to buy an extra piece of bread and they look at me like they don't understand. This is not advanced chemistry. Maybe I'm the crazy one but I like my dips with something to dip. Not as a soup
Our first time there. Amazing food, very authentic. Deserts were really out of this world. Waiters are very attentive and friendly. Put hot bread and olives right away on our table. The cooking time was a bit long, but that because they cook to order. Will go there again next time with the family.Parking: We found a parking right away around the corner on 86th street
MY WHOLE FAMILY GOT SICK!!!!! Went there for Father’s Day and complete waste of $200. The food tasted stale. Nothing was fresh, including the salad. The salad was brown. The portions were downsizes big time. The mix grill is not worth the money paid. It used to to be my favorite place, but I won’t be returning anytime soon. Plus the girl at the register, should have her hair in a ponytail. AVOID AVOID AVOID
It used to be a good place, but not anymore! Very slow service. Two orders came very late. They add 18% gratuity to the bill! I'm not happy with the experience I had with them tonight.Update! I've been sick for two days aince I ate there. Definitely will NOT go there again.
Excellent Turkish food with exceptional service. I have had important business dinners here and the manager and staff have always been superb and on point. The food is clean and tasty. I highly recommend the Turkish coffee with kunafa and baklava for dessert.
I wish I could give 0 star. This place is highly overrated and overly priced. I ordered “Lamb Adana Kebab”. Meat was not fresh, it was uncooked and very smelly. I couldn’t eat it. I also ordered Calf’s liver. Which was also smelly for me. On top of that, insane service charges (for what?). I’m not going there again.
Adana Kebab on point? CheckDelicious crispy, crunchy shepherd's salad? CheckA full plate of tasty appetizers? Check.Hot and fresh bread? CheckGenerous portions? Triple-check.This place deserves 10 stars. We've had the pleasure of being customers of Istanbul Bay often this winter and they do not disappoint. Delivery is always quick, the staff are lovely if you call them and need anything, and they really take the time to make the food absolutely delicious. Ever since I've had my first Adana Kebab plate there, I've been sold. You literally start to crave it out of nowhere. Our family orders from here often, and yesterday's order was truly above and beyond in terms of freshness, quality, and portion size. Even the plain white rice was umami, buttery deliciousness. I can't say enough good things about Istanbul Bay, but we certainly recommend it to everyone we know. Thank you for outstanding service and great food!
They always forget something for delivery. ALWAYS. Not every other order, not once in a blue… EVERY SINGLE TIME. They do not check out going orders properly. Be well prepared to be missing an item. You can even explain this to them and ask them to make sure order is properly checked. It does not matter, someone who works there deliberately does not pack orders properly. This is a fact.
Terrible customer service!!!!! I ordered food over the phone and my husband was on his way to pick it up and they refused to let me pay at the restaurant and told me I had to pay over the phone. I tried to explain to them that I didn’t have my card on me because I was doing my laundry, and that my husband was arriving soon, but they started mocking me and telling me that they will place the order once my husband walks in to the restaurant. I told them that I wanted chicken over rice and they started mocking me and asking me what RICE was. I would understand if this was a place that didn’t serve rice but they always give you the chicken with rice and a salad. This is really upsetting and nobody should treat their customers like this.
Food is always amazing, but the service sucks! You ask them a question & they are no help! Also the girl working behind the register should have her hair up in a pony tail, she shouldny be allowed to be by the food and gyro meat with all that hair. You need to do better customer service wise.
