The place was crowded. It was the weekend after st Patrick's, so maybe that had something to do with it. We were seated at a table for 8 that seemed to be set up just for us. We made a reservation, but they had no record of it. So it looked like they squeezed a table in the middle. It was a bit awkward, but not a huge detractor.. The food was good at best. The service was pleasant and there was live music. We went there for steak. I wouldn't suggest ordering steak.
On a recent Saturday night, we walked in at 7:45 and were seated without a reservation. We ordered crab cakes, a green salad, and shepherd's pie. Everything was delicious, and the staff was professional.

My wife and I just enjoyed a nice anniversary dinner here and there was live music paired with warm bread and butter while you decide what you would like to eat. I had the chicken pot pie which was spectacular and my wife enjoyed her chicken francese. Our waitress was an absolute doll and was very attentive. Happy to say we will be back as regulars!
My first time visiting Hunter's Steak & Ale House was on Sunday, February 27, 2022. It was dinner provided by the sister of the man who was being honored after a memorial service. I can honestly say the food was delicious and the service was excellent. All the servers were very professional, polite, helpful and friendly. The food we were served was a specifically designed menu for all who attended. I had the Chicken Francese, which was truly delicious, as well as the tiramisu which was very, very good. The coffee was wonderful, as well. Although my reason for visiting was a somber one, I was very impressed and look forward to returning.
I truly enjoyed the atmosphere and food. The french onion soup and baked clams were delicious. I also enjoyed the shepherds pie and the tiramisu. Will definitely visit again.
The food is amazing and reasonably priced for the unbelievable quality !! The surf and turf is tantalizing !! If you are in the area a must eat. Great ambiance as well.
This is definitely the place for a great steak in Brooklyn. I would also recommend trying the fish dishes. The service is exquisite as always
Food was delicious and prices were great
I had the salmon dish and it was properly prepared. Nice and moist not overdone and dry. It was accompanied by fresh string beans and real flowery mashed potatoes. The wait staff was welcoming and friendly.
