If I had written this review after my first order, I would have erroneously given a 5 star review. The swift time of delivery, the taste, the packaging etc were so exceptional. I was blown away in comparison to a competitor BUT then I placed another order another time (as I was impressed with the initial order) and this time, I ordered even more soups and all but it was a FAIL.The whole food delivered to me gave me this "left over food vibe" which I really didn't appreciate. The very first order, the Egusi soup was looking so great and for the first time, I didn't stool after eating Egusi soup prepared by another but the second time, it was all like a clump of residue Egusi and I was so disappointed. The taste wasn't as great as the first. (See photos for comparison)Also the Ogbono was not slimy and the taste? I'm in no way impressed.I really had high hopes about this place initially but the second order gave me a rethink. I still intend to visit in person and probably know if the failed order was just a once in a lifetime event. When I do visit and I'm impressed, I will be updating.Something I must commend is the Great SPEED at food preparation. Keep that up!!!

I'll be fair and give this place 3 stars. I'm half nigerian and food here is good. Taste like it's from home. But every thing else is a joke. Horrible service!! Walked in was greeted but wasn't told where to sit down, so we sat ourselves down. Never was given a menu had to look around for the menus and never was offered even a beverage...like wth. Took them almost 17 minutes before she took our order. Had to ask a local there about the service bc she was the only one there. Apparently on weekdays they are slow and short staff, and weekends are packed, most people just call and order by phone and pick up. But cmon. Pick to be a dine in and order or just close shop and be an order only place. They gave my friends local tap water which was nasty. Had to go outside and get bottled water. Just a horrible experience. Second time coming to NY since 2013 and this is what I get. Whew. And don't get me started on that $105 bill. I hope they do better. Stright up embarrassing...

So it was my first time trying African food I got the egusi stew with pounded yam.the egusi tasted like nothing I have ever had before it tasted bitter and wasn't spicy the pounded yam was interesting it takes the flavor of any stew so I had it with some spicy curry and it was amazing.

Tried out this location last week. I was there for their Taco Tuesday, best decision I made that week! The food was amazing tried out thé tacos and burger with a friend, the cocktails were also bomb! The staff are super friendly and responsive too! Would highly recommend!!

In love with the spicy burger! It looked amazing and was delicious. So much rich flavor that I got one for take out as well. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in town

The bbq wings and wedges were amazing and definitely hit my savory cravings! Will definitely be back to try the rest of their menu.

The food is great, and its awesome to have a Nigerian restaurant in the neighborhood. But, tonight I asked for jollof rice and without being told I was given chicken with a side of jollof rice and charged $17. I had tried to say I wanted two orders of rice so I thought okay maybe they raised the price of a side of rice from $5 to $7 or $8 two of them could get the price up okay no problem. I open the bag on my way home and I see one of the containers is chicken… I don’t eat chicken so I go back. The bartender tells me the menu was changed and every order of rice must come with chicken. I said okay I don’t eat chicken so I don’t want to waste, it why don’t you take it back. The bartender then says okay, ‘we’ll take the chicken back but the price is the same.’ So if you want one order of jollof rice for $17 by all means go to Hills Place.

The food was finger licking!! The chief chef, I think he's name's was Kevin. A humble magician.. Can't wait to visit NY again!! Food can't taste any better, ya rock!!!!!

Two weeks ago I would’ve given 4 stars (remove one star bc sometimes the food was a bit too oily and the meat sometimes is tougher than I like it to be). Since they revamped the menu it has dropped to a 1. Now the only thing on the menu that resembles typical west african food is jollof rice with chicken. The rest is now wraps and wings etc. things I can get anywhere else. It was really nice having a place close to home where I could get good food. Please bring back at least some of the stews and sides that were on the menu before.I don’t know what the new food taste like because I have no desire to try it and I have food allergies that prevents me from eating half of the new items on the menu☹️

Tried this place one night and had to come back again the very next night because the food was so good. The ogousi as well as the spinach with fish is to die for. Will be stopping here to satisfy my itch for west African food whenever I’m in the city. My friend had the drinks and was not a fan and the goat meat was a little tough but I would give a million stars for the fish, ogousi, spinach, pounded yam, and okra. The customer service was also very good.
