Came here w/friends last night for the first time. Cool vibe and lovely people staffing this place. Well made/great cocktails.I got the guacamole w/plantain chips ($16). The serving size of the guacamole was maybe 4 tablespoons (no more than one small avocado). I almost sent it back. Plantain Chips were good. The Jalepeno popper had a good spicy sauce, albeit two bite sized portions ($14). I would definitely not pay those kinds of prices for such small food portions again. You can buy a generous meal for $30.

I really liked this place. The decor was nice, there was cool merchandise & the food was really good! I would say, however, that the place was not very hygienic. I could see the cooks touching their faces/mouth with their gloves when they were cooking. Leaning over the prep workspace and resting their heads on their gloves. Not a good practice when handling food.

Second time there. It’s such a beautiful place! Love the plants and love the vibe. The staff is super friendly and everything it nicely kept up. Got the torta Milanesa, BEC, and also a dish called “plantain Picadillo”Would recommend going there for pastries, coffee drinks, the plants and ambience. But the food was lacking in flavor from the first time I went a few months ago.The BEC and torta were okay. The most disappointing was the plantain dish, the plantain was hard and sooo over cooked that it turned into rubber unable to eat really. yucca chips with the black bean spread was good but wasn’t worth the price.Overall 3.5 stars

Loved all of the food that we got! We got the breakfast torta, nachos, pozole and the vegan babka. Their food came in huge portions and you can tell they put a ton of effort into their food and spare no expense on the ingredients. The vegan babka was INSANE - it’s a must. So flaky and delicious

SO GOOD, the breakfast torta was amazing and the coconut ceviche was unique and flavorful. Wasn’t in love with the chai (but it did have a more ginger burn than cinnamon), but the vibe of the restaurant and the food was amazing otherwise.

Cute coffee shop during the day, cocktails at night. So many plants and really cute decor.

This place isn’t just good, it’s literal perfection??? The decor, the little shop, the food, it’s iconic and cute and fun. 10/10.

A vegan palace/paradise. Chai latte was amazingly flavorful and streamed to the *perfect* temperature. Breakfast torta was full of crunch and texture and tasty goodness. It’s a good place to meet, work, read, or chill with both inside and outside seating options.

Used to be the best vegan breakfast in NYC. But the sandwich I used to get for $10 (already pricy) is now $14 and not as good as it used to be. The babka is not evenly baked and costs $18 (insane). Not worth it anymore ?. Oh, and an extra star off because they aren't even vegan - they offer cows milk. Gross and cruel.Edited. Prices continue to soar while quality continues to plummet. I'll never spend my money here again

Went to Guevara’s to try out their much praised vegan Torta Milanesa (Mexican sandwich) which is loaded with black beans, purple cabbage, tomato, avocado, peppers and breaded eggplant. It definitely was a satisfying sandwich (not cheap though at $14 plus tax & tip) but I found the bread to be a bit stale. It’s a great addition to the vegan cafe scene in Brooklyn and I’ll definitely be back to try their sweet pastries (donuts, croissants) and empanadas. Also want to add that the decor of the shop is beautiful - in addition to food & coffee, you can buy plants and a few other things here. Great outdoor space during the warmer months.
