Awesome food. Pretty sizeable portions, quick and friendly staff, and nice cozy location. I definitely over ordered, not expecting the tacos to be as packed as they were. But it's called Gordo's for a reason lol. I got the shrimp tacos, octopus tacos, and open faced steak quesadillas. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. Will definitely be stopping by again.
Went there 15 minutes before they open and asked if we could sit outside on their patio until they opened. The guy Rudely replied “I mean sure it’s your choice” with no warmth or welcoming In his tone at all. I would’ve expected a friendlier tone from a restaurant and maybe even ask if we’d like some water or something like that. I don’t know, either their just a careless restaurant or they hired the wrong hipster.
Worth checking out if you are in the area!Positives:- Food: This spot was Michelin rated in 2021 and the food lives up to the expectations. Ordered the carne asada quesadilla and tiger shrimp tacos. Both items were good and had decent size portions.- Drinks: There are 6+ different Margarita flavors and offer a wide range of cocktails and Mexican beers. I really like that their margaritas are not too sweet! We ordered the mango, grapefruit, cucumber jalapeño margaritas and a michelada. All the drinks were good.- Ambiance: Not your typical Mexican spot! When I visited they played emo-punk music for the majority of my stay. From looking at the decor, I got some skater vibes.- Team: Great customer service all around.Opportunities:- Nothing worth mentioning. I enjoyed my time here and will definitely be back. There's a few more dishes that are calling my name.
The taco is soggy, the chicken lacks flavor and there’s no way this place does not pay for its publicity because while it presents well it taste subpar

Went there for a date and it was a great experience. The guy who took our order was well verse in his spiel that it made choosing what to eat easy. Food was great, atmosphere was great, music was ?. Definitely recommend going. Oh and the dish sizes were not to little, not to much. Just the right amount.
We had lunch at this Mexican restaurant last Nov 2021 based on my daughter’s recommendation. It’s a small restaurant specializing on mexican dishes with a basic ambience. Their service was good and efficient, with reasonable prices and delicious dishes. We ordered some of their favorite / specialty dishes which taste very nice. I would be happy to recommend this restaurant if you’d craving for delicious mexican dishes while in Brooklyn.

I decided to visit Gordo's Cantina after spotting it on the Michelin Bib Gourmand list and it didn't disappoint. I had two of the menu items off their recommended list: Black Tiger Shrimp Tacos with Menonita Cheese and the Roasted Poblano and Corn Quesadilla plus a fresh hibiscus margarita to boot. Everything was excellent -- fresh, flavorful, and fun. I will be back to try the Chicken Enchiladas and explore the rest of the menu
