We were excited to eat at this Michelin-rated Bib Gourmand restaurant. Sadly, we didn’t think the food we had deserved the rating. The Jja Jang noodles didn’t have much taste and the Summer Salad Bibim bowl was just slightly better. Oh, also the bingsoo was served up in a cup! Did Michelin try only a couple of dishes before giving the rating? Tsk. Tsk.
It was ok I guess. Sorta Bushwick 2015 vibes
Super yummy food. I got one of the bowls with pork belly & the red sauce. Service was amazing but we were the only ones there at 8pm on a Wednesday night (maybe Thursday, can't remember). Very Instagram hype aesthetic and was kinda shocked to be the only patrons but it's also a weird location for a spot like this. I'll be back though!
Ordered their mandu and I really enjoyed it. The staff is nice and they have a nice setup for their indoor dining.
Great service, lovely outdoor seating.Appetizers are good, however don't settle for the customer favorites on the menu. The Kansho Poppers were alright (I ordered the shrimp). The real winner were the corn ribs. Inspired me to give a go at creating them during the next backyard bbq I host. I will say that the dipping sauce they provided for the corn ribs was nothing to write home about. Maybe commit to the flavors profile add a little bit more of a zang? Or add a good bit of spice to give the mayo base something to counteract? Either would be a nice addition to the otherwise fantastic opener.I ordered the KBBQ spare ribs with the intent of munching on them at home after I had digested a bit more of the two appraisers. I haven't had a taste as of yet, but good golly one wiff of the to-go bag had my stomach yearning for more food to be shoveled in ASAP.
Filthy tile tables, food so-so. The ribs were ok, meat was tender and came right off the bone. Odd flavor though. The brisket bowl was a huge disappointment. First off I don’t think it was brisket, it was cut into thin slices and it was rubbery and tough. There was so much black sauce in there that it overpowered everything. What saved the meal was really bomb kimchi mac and cheese. Best I ever had.
I really enjoyed the indoor atmosphere. Cozy, and bright. The staff were friendly and efficient. My fried chicken sandwich was a little plain and dry, however, my mom really enjoyed the kimchi fried rice.
I like this place. Some interesting twists on Korean food. The bowls are really fresh, but felt a bit overpriced. The chicken sandwich is pretty solid. The platters are really where it's at. The chicken poppers are a must-have happy hour item. Can't wait until the liquor license gets renewed though. They have some great and harder to find items on the beer and wine list.
The food is incredible and the staff is very welcoming.
When I get a rice bowl I expect it to be more than a half cup of cooked rice.. $17 rip off. Second try - still a rip-off. The quality/taste vs the price just isn’t there. We’re in NYC with so many better options. Sorry guys. I’m sure the price of rent and food don’t help but gotta step it up.
