Butcher Cheese Shops

Don’t be fooled, this place is not a butcher shop. It’s another harbinger of “sustainable!””women-owned!””local!””community-building!” overpriced goods meant to help entitled people feel a little less guilty. They even refuse to accept food-stamps, ebt, or wic, (!) giving up millions and millions in sales to needy families presumably so they don’t bother you while buying 20$ chocolate bars. It’s a shame as the sausages really are darn good. I just can’t go in there anymore without feeling yucky about myself and sorry for my neighbors.

Very good breakfast sandwiches and burritos here. I haven’t shopped their groceries, but they have a good selection of specialty cheeses and vegetables. Breakfast is affordable, but groceries seem a bit pricy.

This place is awesome very helpful staff. They recommended me this prairie breeze cheese once and I can’t not get it anytime I come in. Their house pastrami is amazing as well along with all of their sandwiches. Whoever stocks this place with all the groceries really cares. I have gotten burgers to grill along with their sausages. All of it is amazing I wish there was a store like this in every single neighborhood in New York. I will continue to come and am very grateful that I was able to discover this spot over five years ago now.

Very mixed experiences here. The food is consistently good and uses quality ingredients that validate the higher prices. The selection of grocery is eclectic and I am sure challenging to source. The cheese and meats on offer are easily the best quality in Bushwick. The downside is the staff. Unfortunately, they always seem inconvenienced by helping you and are chilly on their best days, whatever the reasons may be. Considering they ask you for a 20-30% tip (requiring you to choose 'other', then an amount, to do anything less) even when buying basic grocery items, it seems there should at least be friendly staff.

never had the breakfast sandwiches here before but it was pretty amazing. prior to the pandemic i had came for their butcher shop and general grocery selection which is stand-alone five stars, it was nice to have the house made sausage inside the sandwich. the biscuit was underwhelming at first but held up well through the sandwich. staff is nice and knowledgeable. can't wait to come back.

What a spot! Incredible meats and cheese. The kitchen is incredible. All the food is spectacular. The staff are excellent humans who are super knowledgeable and who are always doing their best. I’m so grateful to live close by to this epic gem ???❤️‍?

Made my first purchase here today. I live in the neighborhood, and I’ve browsed their grocery shelves and found it all too pricy. I really wanted an egg and cheese with nice ingredients, so my boo and I strolled in over for the egg and cheese biscuit, a breakfast burrito, and a cold brew. The initial interaction with barista #1 was tangibly icy, and I hoped we might have a pleasant interaction with someone as we waited for our food, but most of the employees gave off an air of annoyance that you’d have to be there to experience, it’s not a welcoming spot. One employee working the cheese counter seemed pretty chill and asked kindly if we wanted any cheese. Big ups to them! The food was made with quality ingredients, and I enjoyed my sandwich, the coffee was smooth AF. My boo liked the burrito, and especially the house made chorizo.I don’t know what the issue is with this place, and I really don’t have enough info to judge it. It feels like they love making food and hate having to help people, or hate their job due to internal politics at the shop or something? If you come through and like the food enough to absorb the negative vibes, maybe take the food to go?

Food was really good. The iced coffee was great too. I personally felt the price was worth it. I did find it odd that one of the candy bars was $20.00. Seems out of place given the surrounding community and location. I also think it was weird none of the employees had masks on. I know the mask mandate changed in which case they can’t tell customers to wear masks if they don’t wear them….

A hidden jem in Bushwick. Incredible cheese, wine, and snack selection. Staff is friendly and informed, so if you have questions or are looking to explore new options - they have plenty of suggestions.

They have great products, but not consistent on what they keep in stock.whoever runs this place hasn’t figured out how to fix service issues. The employees are odd, they seem unaware that they are working to serve people, and they seem to have an equally rude customer base. One time I came in for a hot coco, and they said they wouldn’t make it because they just closed the espresso machine. I had to explain that I asked for a hot coco not a coffee, and they eventually made it. ??‍♀️Being adaptive and open to change is how places survive. Training your staff to go out of their way to give great service would help them grow. or idk maybe the staff isn’t getting paid enough.
