My wife and I have gone to this place a few times. She's from Argentina and was looking for good food from her hometown. She found it here and with great service.Hope to be back again soon (PS - Staten Island has no Argentinian restaurants. Hint Hint)
FANTASTIC mealWe came here for my sons' belated birthday dinner and we were SO impressed by the quality and incredible taste of the food. The skirt steak was the most tender and flavorful steak I have had in a long, long time. We were a party of 6 and everything we ordered was expertly prepared and beyond delicious! I don't normally order Sangria but I would definitely order this again and the desserts were fabulous! Top that off with an awesome waiter and it made for a perfect birthday night out!!
Absolutely wonderful experience all around. I had the napalotina Milanesa. Delicious, meanwhile entranã steak was the centerpiece and absolutely exceeded our expectations. Mashed yucca, excellent eggplant tomato salsa and delicious sangria and cocktails made for excellent additions to our meal. Overall superb service and ambiance and I could not reccomend this experience enough to anyone!

Lacks Latin American vibe with Madonna and English New Wave music being blasted but makes up for it with good food and service. Started with beef empanadas which were hot, fried, tasty and folded correctly. One of best I have had in NYC. Parrillada for two was nicelly executed and prepared well, sweetbreads were crispy and plentiful, very good blood sausage and nicely cooked short ribs. Accompanying french fries were fine but would be better if home made. Didn’t have the Malbec we requested but was offered another at lower price that was outstanding. Nice job by the bartender and staff.
From all the argentine steakhouses we have eaten before El Mate is ours place to go.The empanadas were so delicious i have to take some home. The house salad was amazing. My boy love the chef's burger.We had the parrillada medium cooked and it was right on the point ohhhh and the red sangria was so good. Don't forget to try it.As dessert we choose the panqueque with dulce de leche and banana so good.

This place is absolutely perfect. Food is terrific, tasty and fresh. Their deserts are worth to be mentioned. All what me and my friends have tried were amazing. Service was also very nice.
