This place has a lot of hype surrounding it - and with VERY good reason. It lives up to its reputation 100%. The BEST pizza in all of New York. That is a bold claim but it is true. They make the pie to order, the crust is incredible. The toppings are legit. There is a shop across the street to grab a drink and eat street side. Do yourself a favor and get here for a slice ASAP!

Frankly I don't know how this place doesn't have 5 stars across the board. The service was amazing, everyone was so friendly, price was not cheap... But you 100% get what you're paying for and then some.Best slice I've had in NYC by a long shot.If you want good pizza you gotta get out of Manhattan and over to Brooklyn

Hands down the best pizza place in New York. If you are a pizza lover then Di Fara Pizza place is for you to try and enjoy amazing delicious authentic Italian pizzas… the thin pizza’s are really thin and Awesome… cheese toppings… the family red sauce is simply out of this world and you can’t get enough of it when you eat it… so go and try it out…

When we visited in May we were disappointed to find that the dining area was closed, and that takeaway was the only option (there was no indication of this that we saw anywhere on the web or google maps). This issue was exacerbated by the fact that there is literally not a single bench, table, or open grassy area for what seems like miles to actually sit and enjoy your food. We ended up loitering on the stoop of an apartment building a few blocks down the street and awkwardly balanced our food and drinks while we scarfed our pizza. The pizza was tasty, but I was so uncomfortable trying to eat and enjoy it that it’s really tough to fairly judge how good it actually was. Add the long train ride to get there and the high prices, and what we got was a pretty unenjoyable experience. I’d recommend skipping this place unless the dining area is open or you have somewhere you know you can relax and enjoy a couple of slices.

I had lofty expectations expectations. I wanted to eat here for around 10 years, it's out of the way location, and my infrequent trips to NYC made the legend grow. It's a good pizza, and if I lived in the area there's a good chance it would be my everyday pizza. It's popularity is unquestioned and my review will ultimately make no difference(and I celebrate that to a certain degree). If you happen to be in the area, you'd be a fool not to stop by. But I'd advise against making a pilgrimage there as I did. I ordered the regular pie which is essentially a cheese pizza with basil. It's good. However I had some issues with texture. The center was very soggy, something my favorite NYC pizzerias don't do(like Joe's or L&B). On one of the slices there was also a huge chunk of tomato(minor offense but you have to remember this was essentially on my foodie bucket list). Also there was an abnormal amount of flour residue on the bottom of the pie. The crust was not desirable and fell in the pizza bone category, discarded without thought. The service was fantastic, I wish I could've gone inside(closed COVID) and I wish the "boss" was there. Also, they serve Pepsi(meh).

fantastic pizza, you gotta get the square slice! nobody does it better, the crust is so crispy and delicious even with all the sauce and cheese. order online ahead of time to avoid a wait! can’t wait to be back just for the square pie

Went to this restaurant following good review in newspaper. What a bunch of crock. Terrible tasting pizza. Even chain pizzerias taste better. Also what's with the prices? A "regular" pizza for $30? Are we fricking kidding? Stay away!

One of the most iconic pizzas in NYC. Yes, that's a big statement and yes most who know NYC pizzas would agree of this place.I went there today Fri 2/15/22 around 3p and the steal gate covering the door was closed but the To Go window was open. The hard to read but legible menu was on the window. There was no one waiting. I ordered 3 slices (2 square, one round) from the lady and 5 mins later I left with my warm (not hot) slices. I don't think they just just came out of the oven, but they were good, very good. The square slices looked better and tasted better, but Di Fara has still got it. Even while sitting in my car. Mmmm.I remember the days well of ordering from inside and waiting 1.5 hours for one slice.Long live great NYC pizza.See pictures.

Really sad, it’s gone very downhill over the past few years. Last time we ordered (about 8 months ago) the square pie was totally uncooked mush (wafer thin, raw dough), today I tried again; square pie arrived cooked but soggy and soupy in the middle, with sauce soaking completely through the crust, hardly any cheese on each slice and the edges were burnt. I realize delivery effects a pie, but it used to be amazing. Won’t be wasting money trying to order this again.

I'm afraid this one got a little over hyped and my hopes were astronomically high. The pizza was good, and I'd eat it again, but it's not one I'd travel out of the way for a second time. That said, I feel like not being able to eat it inside the restaurant or at least on a warmer day outside definitely hurt the score. Such is COVID life sadlyPizza Adventures: Destination #145
