Lovely romantic spot in the neighborhood with delicious food and an impressive selection of Italian wines. I enjoy the spinning wheel as opposed to an exhaustive wine list, clever idea. My only complaint is that several of the tasting bottles we were given when trying to pick a red wine had turned, which put a bit of a bad taste in my mouth (literally and figuratively).

Such a beautiful place with incredible pasta and wine.

D'Antan is a cozy Italian neighborhood restaurant in Brooklyn. The interior decor is a throwback to a classic bygone era with its antique ceiling fans, light fixtures, wood burning stove and wall tiles. The windows and some walls customer pictures, which is a nice touch. The food is absolutely delicious! We started with the Stracciatella & Anchovies and the Grilled Octopus, both were excellent, especially the later. For the main course, we had the Ricotta Ravioli and the Gnocchi Cacio & Pepe. Both were cooked perfectly and the flavors were on point. For dessert, we had the delicious Almond Chocolate Cake and the Tiramisu. While I can't recall which wine we chose, it paired very well with our meals.Overall, the food and service were very good, but it should be noted that some menu items are pricey by most standards. However, I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Food was good, portions were smaller than expected for the price of dishes. Bread charge at an Italian restaurant? Is this a new trend? Service was ok, not great.

Excellent food and wine pairing!

Delicious food, intimate environment. Loved the burrata and the Branzino dish. Excellent wines! Server a little forgetful but super kind !

Fantastic authentic pasta and a great wine selection. Waitress was extremely knowledgeable and helped us find wine to fit our tastes and pair with our meals!

Although they have an extensive selection of wines, they do not have a wine list. Instead, they have a wine “wheel” where you select the color/style (i.e., red, white sparkling, etc.) and mood (i.e., fun, foggy, elegant) and the servers bring you a sample of wines they think match your wheel selections. While this is fun and perhaps good for those who don’t know wine well, my partner didn’t care for it given his extensive wine knowledge. The food we ordered was delicious, but the portions are not generous. As I read elsewhere, we did leave hungry. Overall, this is a solidly “good” restaurant, but lacking in value.

Celebration

Mediocre food at best. Wildly over priced. Don’t have any idea why there are good reviews
