Need to display seating availability accurately on open table. If I knew weâd have to sit in the front room or sidewalk, we wouldnât have gone. It also was so hot, made eating kind of miserable.
The staff refused to close the door upon request. Said the owner doesnât like to close the door. The A/C was ineffective as a result. We were drenched in sweat as a result. The service was very slow and we repeated asking for stuff 4-5 times. Was annoying. Funny thing is that the humidity was high as well about a month earlier when I dined there. The staff ( a different one) happily closed the door and we were very comfortable as a result. As a footnote, Iâve been coming here since the place opened.
I live in Texas and I could not wait to make this my first stop when getting back to the city. The ravioli with the sage butter and Parmesan Is one of the most delicious meals I have ever had. I first came upon this place last summer and went twice during the one week I was here. Highly recommend that dish! Service is outstanding as well.
Terrible neighbors!! They have a 30' shed in the street for dining but use it for storage instead and fill the public sidewalk space with furniture/umbrellas making it difficult for public to access sidewalk. Just last night I was walking past and while trying to avoid crashing into people walking opposite I tripped over a chair and the person seated was jolted forward. I previously told workers they're furniture needs to be out of sidewalk space. The response was "The owner makes us, we're not allowed to use the shed". Filing another report to DOT and the mayors office! This place is a neighborhood nuisance and danger!
Service was rushed and inattentive. Food was mediocre.
Wow, our party of four enjoyed a terrific evening here! Truly authentic Italian food (the owners are Sardinian): fresh, delicious, nicely presented but not pretentious - just like dining well in Italy. Intimate, inviting space (we dined inside), lively but not too loud. Great wine choices, excellent service. This was our first time, definitely won't be the last. This place is the real deal - check it out.
Pasta wasn’t the best, antipasti were okay. Wine was pretty okay but really was t worth the amount we paid. Stacf we’re friendly.
The pasta here is so dang tasty. I added all that parm in my photos because I’m a sicko. Also the reason my pictures have a blue tint - they turn on the clubbing lights at like 8 in the back. Fun vibe!
D.O.C. is by far my favorite Italian restaurant in NYC! 100% authentic deliciousness from Sardinia, the most amazing island in the Mediterranean Sea. I have been to this place a billion times and tried every dish on the menu, and I have to say, there is absolutely nothing there that is not perfectly executed, everything is simply mind blowing. The malloreddus are obviously their specialty, they're rich, hearty, sumptuous, una meraviglia! I also recommend trying their pappardelle alla bolognese, the fregola (another specialty from Sardinia), the octopus and the branzino.Besides the incredible food, D.O.C. has also the best service in town, extremely kind, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The restaurant is beautiful, perfect for a romantic date or a nice, informal dinner with friends. Go to the backroom to admire paintings and decor inspired by the gorgeous, typical architectural style of the island.Veramente un posto incredibile. Siete bravissimi!!!
Absolutely love this place. Amazing pastas, and the best branzino I have managed to find. Their pistachio pesto, whether on a pasta or crostini is incredible and a must try if visiting for the first time. The staff are always highly attentive and friendly, and incredibly helpful in picking out a good wine. During the warmer months, they also have a nice little outdoor dining setup as well.
