A big selection of beers and food but. A lot of the products are expired maybe the staff can’t figure that out yet . I only told them a 100 times. Also many of the girls working at the cash registers have bad attitudes. I only come here because it’s convenient. It should be a Wegmans definitely a great store
Good selection. About 40% more expensive than a standard grocery. Mind-boggling that they don’t have 5-cent paper bags either, but these huge wasteful synthetic ones for 50 cents, that just go straight to the garbage. I’d love to tell management, but I’ve never seen anyone on the floor. Please get paper already!
Have patronize this supermarket since it opened as Urban Market . It's been a great addition to the neighborhood ever since. Great options to choose from I frequent their cheese section for a variety of choices. Cashiers are friendly and helpful when I can't find an item
This is a sketchy store with really nice polish. It is gorgeous on the inside and out, but it is shady shady SHADY. First of all, this is hands down the most expensive grocery store I have ever been to in my life. I get that it is off Kent Avenue and a high income area, but the prices are blatantly inflated for no reason. You would think with such high prices, everything would be perfectly labeled, right? Nope! SO MANY ITEMS are missing a price label and a lot of them that do have a price ring up way higher when you check out. Recently I checked out with 2 of the same item and they both rang up at different prices. And a small bag of grapes is $10? Whaaa? At that point with a line of people behind you, who wants to be the jerk Karen to have the cashier put something back and dispute all the mismarked items? Nobody likes that person. But this happens literally every single time I shop here. I have lost count at how many times my partner and I have come home and looked at the receipt only to see we were overcharged, double charged, charged for the wrong item, or something that would be maybe $4-5 at most stores was grossly inflated at almost $10+ here. Expect to spend no less than $50 on bare basics. Also, they don't check their expiration dates very well... for DAIRY. I saw sour cream that expired on 12/31/2021 on 1/10/22. This place is wild but it's visually appealing with an okay selection and does smell nice. 10/10 for interesting atmosphere even if it does feel slightly dystopian.
Aside from its proximity to my apartment and a decent produce/vegetable and beer selection, I don't like going here because I keep encountering expired products on the shelves. I noticed it during the first wave of COVID in late March 2020 after buying an expired package of sliced ham, but I figured they had bigger issues on their hands at the time---staffing, supply issues, consumer rush during the pandemic---so I let it go.But on 11/16/2021 I saw at least 5-6 refrigerated products that had passed their "best by" dates by *several weeks* --- hummus dated 10/8/21 (39 days past) and 10/25/21 (22 days), cottage cheese dated 11/1/21 (15 days) and 11/4/21 (12 days). I went again yesterday, 11/20/21 and saw dried fruit dated for April 2021. They need to do a thorough check and pull this stuff from the shelves.Another issue is that products frequently don't scan at their advertised sale price. You really have to watch each item as it's scanned or you'll miss it (cashiers are quick), or check your receipt before leaving. No one wants to go back to complain about a $0.75 difference for something, but if the store does this with dozens of products X hundreds of customers for months and months, that adds up pretty quick for them ($$$).All photos from 11/16/21
Be sure to check the expiration dates on certain items and if you grab something on sale, take a picture of the price. There has been several instances when I’m at the cashier and the prices do not reflect what is shown in store. The store is definitely extremely overpriced, overall, but it works for needing something quick.
City Acres Market was a good place to buy when tour going food shopping they have a variety of Organic fruits and also fresh vegetables and anything t make a good lunch I definitely recommend this place to anyone buying there.
