Food was amazing and the breads and the empnadas were soo soo good
Finally!! Cali Tajadas is the authentic Colombian restaurant I have been looking for in Brooklyn that’s close to home. I moved to Sunset Park 3 months ago from Queens so I’m used to having several Colombian options at my doorstep. Also my mom is Caleña and an amazing cook so my expectations for authentic Colombian food are high.I ordered the bandeja valluna to test it out. It was delicious! Happy to report the lentils have that familiar, home-made taste to it. The rice was nice and fluffy with the distinctive Colombian taste we know and love. Now I’ve transitioned to a whole food plant-based vegan diet, so I requested they do not add the steak and chorizo that comes with the dish. I did have the fried egg (since I made an exception), maduro, avocado and salad.I also got lucky and the pandebono had just come out the oven when I arrived so I ordered one with a small coffee as an appetizer. So fresh and so good! The owner - Emilio - is very welcoming and accommodating. The rest of his staff is very friendly and welcoming as well. The place is small but well furnished and spaced out. It’s got it’s Colombian decor thoughtfully placed. You can tell there is love and pride put into this establishment. Happy to have a little part of Cali, Colombia just a 15 minute walk from me. ??❤️
5 stars ⭐️ the food is good and they give u plenty ur paying but it’s really like ur getting food for two people also the lady in the front is very kind ❤️. Way better than some of the Colombian spots I’ve been to in queens. Whatever that sweet bread is with the strawberry ? filling inside made me wish I can give them a extra star … I should’ve got 2 of them but it was my first time
We had the paella and it was delicious . The our server was very nice and attentive.
I have visited this place many times now to pick up orders and also have placed orders over the phone. The quality of the food has always been outstanding, the staff is very friendly and helpful too. They really pay attention to special requests. The authenticity of the food is unquestionable. I am addicted to the beef empanadas. The bandeja paisa has always been great, you must pace yourself as it is a lot of food. The breaded fish platter is also becoming a favorite. I highly recommend this authentic Colombian restaurant.
Ordered delivery. We only got half our order, but the issue was remedied as soon as we called. Very nice people, absolutely incredible food. The rice and beans are super tasty, and I’m in love with the empanadas. We haven’t tried the arroz con pollo yet because we’re too stuffed, but it looks great.
A nice restaurant with a welcoming staff. We passed by and decided to get pastries and a drink. We ordered a cup of the frozen passion fruit drink and a Colombian bread with guava inside. The food was great. Would return. The staff member was very kind.
Excellent service, food is always fresh and delicious! Excellent Colombian spot!
This place is so homey and clearly loved by the owner. Authentic and delicious Colombian fare
Disappointed. I purchased a whole chicken for 13 dollars and 5 empanadas. They sent 2 green hot sauce. I know many places this chicken comes cheaper and with an abundance of green sauce. To send only 2 for that kind of order is not appreciating your customers business. I have ate here for 4 years. There’s always a need for an empanada from here when you’re passing on Bayridge Avenue. I guess the only con is you have to ensure they understand you want green sauce and for each item you are requesting the sauce for. In this case we asked for green sauce and they said oh ok they want it for two empanadas only instead of putting enough for the order. We have a family of 4 with an infant who’s now eating too. We shared the two tiny green sauces (not the infant) lol.
