This place has the best baba ganoush we’ve found in NY, and the pita bread is always fresh and beautifully fluffy. You can get their dips to take away and they throw in a free bag of pita bread if you buy two containers of takeaway dip.
Amazing sandwiches! The vegetarian “shawarma” sandwiches are tasty and flavorful, but the eggplant breakfast is my favorite - the closest I’ve had to a sabich sandwich since my last trip to Tel Aviv! Lots of vegan options on the menu. The cafe itself is also a nice place to hang out, with outdoor seating out front and in the backyard. Can’t wait to try the salads and bowls.
The vegan options are really great! I had one of the salads for lunch one day and the cauliflower shawarma and rose lemonade the next. The salad was delicious but definitely light. The cauliflower shawarma was sooo good!! I think next time I would get it with more picketed onions. The rose lemonade was not sweet like your traditional lemonade, more like an unsweetened tea but still delicious!
Beautiful little coffee shop with a nice backyard with lots of daylight. The coffee we had was very good and the staff was very friendly. We'll be back when in town.
The lady at the window has bad manners. She has 0 patience. She is a liability to any business. Not sure how she got her job but she clearly needs to find a new one that’ll make her happy. The owner needs to find someone who actually knows about costumer service. If your having a bad week or bad month you leave that at home.
Cauliflower Shawarma was out of this world good! Only thing better than the shawarma is the staff!!
ServiceOrder taker at window appeared to be having a miserable day. Mind you, it was very cold outside so perhaps that was contributing to it? She was very short (kept anything else after everything single thing we said) and clearly annoyed with customers. We ordered two beverages, a bowl and a sandwich which took them 30 minutes. I had to get up and ask about our order as several other customers after us had already been served and left. After asking, they promptly brought out our food.Food/beveragesI ordered a dirty chai. Is was decent. It mostly tasted like a latte with A LOT of cinnamon (see pic). My partner ordered their pink lemonade. It tasted like strong rose water with a ton of lemon. He ordered the sandwich and said it was very good. We noticed most people were ordering their sandwiches so this is probably your best bet if you’re going to try it out. I ordered the coconut curry bowl and this was probably the biggest disappointment of the whole visit. It had nearly no flavor. The rice and veggies were all very well prepared. It was just unfortunately extremely bland.
Had the most pleasant experience here. Delicious food - amazing croissant, egg and cheese, halloumi sandwich and coffees. Owner and staff are so friendly and welcoming! Will definitely come again.
I do not live near this place but make my way there weekly if not biweekly. The food is fantastic! Generous portions and beautifully made food. It is the epitome of eating indulgently while still making healthy choices. The hummus is incredible, the sandwiches are anything but common or boring. Don’t miss out on the sparkling cascara (the berry around coffee made into a lovely caffeinated cold beverage reminiscent of iced hibiscus tea) and their cookies. The women and occasionally man who work the front window are lovely, especially Kait who is an absolute gem. Be patient with them, they’re busy and amazing. Or just don’t eat here and save the rest of us some time.
Delicious but portion of pita falafel was not enough for me. I would be better if there was one more falafel in it...
